This amazing garden is planted and maintained by the Puget Sound Dahlia Association in Volunteer Park, Seattle. (This looks edited, but it’s straight out of camera)

Close-up with the Mitakon Speedmaster at F0.95. Just playing around. I think, I can reduce the focus even more and get closer to an almost abstract rendition of the camera or, at least, get to an image that offers just enough information to trigger the association "camera".

From The Washington Trails Association:

There’s nothing like a lazy beach stroll — and nothing quite like wandering on the spectacularly scenic Olympic Coast.

This hike begins at the Rialto Beach parking area. Your trail is the beach itself and the two mile walk to Hole-in-the-Wall is filled with attractions. Look south to the forested James and Little James islands, while waves crash over Gunsight Rock and numerous offshore sea stacks. Heading north on the beach, walk over sand, rock and driftwood.

Along the way, watch for all manner of wildlife: spy whales, sea lions and otters offshore, while a variety of seabirds drift overhead, and eagles perch in the forest upslope. After a mile, cross Ellen Creek; there may be a log crossing, or you may have to get your feet wet. Continue northward, with Hole-in-the-Wall soon coming into view.

If the tide is out, scramble through the rocky arch and explore the adjacent tide pools, teeming with small oceanic critters. If the tide is in, use the overland trail above the arch and take in panoramic views southward over this picturesque scene.

Excerpt from chinatown.library.uvic.ca/index.htmlq%3Dlee_association.html:

The Lee Association is a clan association for individuals with the surname Lee. This clan traces its roots to the ancient Chinese philosopher Laozi (or Lao-tsu) the founder of Taoism. Lees had arrived in British Columbia since the late 1850s and had organized as a clan association in Victoria since the 1880s. The purpose of this clan association was to care for members who were sick or elderly, help resolve disputes, promote the welfare of members and help members adjust to Canadian society. Lees were instrumental in forming the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association in 1884.

In 1909, with funds raised from members of the Lee clan, Lee Mong Kow, Lee Dan, Lee Dye and Lee Wing Yew purchased property for a meeting hall at 612-614 Fisgard Street on behalf of Lee Long Sai Tong, which then built two adjacent brick buildings in 1911. The association sold the western building in 1920, and in 1935 that building was bought by the Shon Yee Benevolent Association. The Lees kept the eastern building at 614 Fisgard, which had commercial space on the ground floor, offices on the second floor and the meeting hall on the third floor. In 1931, Lee Long Sai Tong merged with Li Dunzong Gongsuo, to become the Lee’s Benevolent Association (Lishi Gongsuo).

In the early twenty-first century, the Lee Association in Victoria still maintains its meeting hall at 614 Fisgard Street and has a membership of about 300. The Lee Association celebrates five festivals including Laozi’s birthday, the Duanwu (early summer) Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival, Christmas, and the Chinese New Year or the Spring Festival. The association’s meeting room offers members a place to enjoy a game of mahjong, sing karaoke or play table tennis.

Lim Sai Hor Association Building at 525 Carrall Street is an example of a once common building type in this part of Vancouver's Chinatown.

This four-storey (including a 'cheater' storey), brick and timber frame building at the southwestern edge of Vancouver's historic Chinatown district was constructed in 1903 for the Chinese Empire Reform Association.

The associations focus was to bring about political reform in China and was the most influential association in Chinatown at the time.

At its height the building housed a school and published a newspaper. Its members included Chang Toy, Yip Sang and Alexander Won Cumyow (the first person of Chinese descent born in Canada).

The Empire Reform Association’s influence faded with the fall of the Qing Empire and the emergence of the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen led republic in 1911.

The newly formed Lim Sai Hor (Kow Mok) Association rented the space in 1926 and bought the building in 1945 to serve as headquarters for its members defined by common surname Lim or Lam.

A 2017 rehabilitation project restored the exterior balcony details, lighting and other distinctive features that reflect the exchange between China and Canada, influencing the traditional village house style and blending it with modern western design trends.

The use of green as an accent colour in the interior and exterior is a nod to the members’ surname which means “forest.”

An alteration of the Carrall Street frontage in 1914 to the designs of Chinese Canadian architect W. H. Chow, from a grandiose colonial style edifice to a stylistically ambiguous, unimposing facade, is representative of changes made to many Chinatown buildings at that time, reflecting the effects of the Revolution on all aspects of daily life, including architecture.

The alterations are an example of Chow's work, that remains largely undocumented and unrecognized.

From the Washington Trails Association:

A nice creekside hike within the Olympics with an option to check out Marymere Falls. This hike has all types of old growth and lush vegetation.

Most hikers follow Barnes Creek towards Lake Crescent Lodge, but at the junction you will turn left to follow the creek. Soon enough you will come to another junction where you have the option to check out the heavily visited Marymere Falls. This is a popular portion of the trail where most people will be heading. Take a right to stop and check it out if you are interested, otherwise continue onward for Barnes Creek.

Continuing onward, the trail has a much different feeling, as it quickly becomes less crowded.

The trail rolls mostly up and rarely down over the next 5.5 miles. Despite being unmaintained, it is in relatively good condition.

The trail fords four creeks and numerous seeps. While the first is unnamed, the following three creeks are Lizard Head Creek, Happy Lake Creek, and Barnes Creek. The mossy trail winds its way through old growth Douglas fir and western hemlock forests. Younger stands show evidence of the valley's fire history.

In spring, watch out for bunchberry blooms and starflowers peppering the mossy forest floor. In summer, pipsissewa bloom profusely next to wild huckleberries and blueberries. In the fall, creekside vine maples paint ochre hues into the verdant landscape.

For those wishing to camp, potential sites are just below the start of this trail at Dismal Draw, 3.5 miles up lower Barnes Creek and next to Happy Lake Creek, 2.9 miles past the Aurora Divide intersection.

After 5.2 miles and 3300 feet of climbing, the trail peters out in a dark stand of stunted western hemlock on the ridge top. Just before reaching this terminus, the trail forks, leading steeply up to the left. Take this trail another half mile up to the top of Lookout Dome.

The trail winds around the backside and up to the top of the dome, where the intrepid hiker can enjoy cliffside views of the Hughes Creek valley sprawling below. Baldy Ridge extends rocky and cliff-faced to the North, the Elwha River meanders far below, and behind, to the West, one can see the Barnes Creek watershed draining down toward a glimpse of Lake Crescent through the trees.

It's possible to day hike this trail from Storm King Ranger station to the top and back but, at around 20 miles round trip, this trail is much more doable as an overnight backpacking trip.

From this vantage on the Emerald Lake Trail, the Front Range summits of Long's Peak and Half Mountain appear orange in the late evening sun. While the forest below begins to quickly transition toward blue hour.

Emerald Lake is a magnificent location in Rocky Mountain National Park with a well-maintained trail from the Bear Lake Trailhead, that passes both Nymph Lake and Dream Lake and meanders along the Tyndall Creek, as seen here.

Even on the first of June (when this image was taken), daytime high temperatures were in the mi-50s at these elevations (around 9900'), which was comfortable for the hike, but became chilly as the sun lowered and darkness set in.

Costurei as mãos , copiei bordados , me exilei, fiz propaganda partidária . Mas não abandonei a família. Puro sentimento de culpa. Viajo. Paris não é Londres e nunca será São Paulo. São Paulo não existe mais. Existe a ficção amorosa, a minha tentativa de amar o próximo. Laços de sangue não são garantia. Ele me lê equivocadamente. O drama é a dependência, o vício. Marco passagem, me desligo temporariamente do face. Quero Clara aqui. Amando pelos poros. Falo sério, sou franco, me dói fazê-la sofrer.

M. smiles at me and praises me for behaving with great nobility when I revealed the secret. Maybe another language will cure me. From the moment I departed I became the one that follows me around and say: go back and finish the job. what a secret? rain after rain doesn't wash history. The dream faded. I slept deeply, my mind not. and I say: clouds and rain are synonymes. "That's an exaggeration, " he pronounced with a mild but firm voice that brooked no contradiction... This is not about wether talk I said, ... say whatever you like about me... the scar on the sky will disappear anyway...
