Circaetus gallicus cruising for. Asps at 2100 meters altitude.(Simplon pass)

France; Lignac, Brenne 6/6/23.

Upturned snout. About 60cms long. I originally mistook this for a Viperine snake (Natrix maura) as it was in water. The markings didn't look right though, also the shape of the head. There are photos of similar poorly marked Asp Vipers on Flickr.
