Many people ask, including myself "What did the original scene look like?"
I thought I would let everyone see the original shot of this particular post. A crop, elimination of two crows, add my signature, lighten the scene and that is it. OK. So thats all my eyes and Photoshop expertise will let me do.
Original is in first comment box below.
You asked for them, and Citizen Brick responds. Camo heads in Desert, Urban, and Jungle to add that extra edge to your military MOCs. Get some!
I was asked by Untold Method to contribute to their ongoing collaborative comic/graphic novel. This is the 5th page of the comic, and I was given all the dialogue and guidelines for the story. I did it using my typical technique of India ink on paper. This is pretty much my first attempt at working on a comic, but hopefully not my last. We'll see.......
In the meantime, check out the website to see the other pages. They have some talented folks working on it :)
Gray ghost surprise!!
It's always good to wash your fruit in the morning. You may ask...."But why?".....The answer...because it means you're facing your big sliding glass doors and might spot something wonderful out in the open space behind your house. That's exactly what happened. I saw a hawk come swooping in and land right behind my fence. I assumed it was our resident red-tailed hawk.....but when I went over to look...it was flying away from me and I could see it had a white patch on top of it's tail which could only mean a Northern Harrier. However, what I didn't expect was that it was a MALE harrier or as many call it a Grey ghost!!! We have never seen a male harrier hunting behind our house. I made some inaudible sounds with my excitement.....grabbed my camera and bolted out of the back door. I really didn't expect it to hang around very long, and it didn't. It flew out of sight, but then back in sight, and then repeated this numerous times. Finally he started making some circles and made a few passes right in front of me. He also managed to fly with some very nice fall colors behind him in the distance. I will have a few more to share, but here are some of my favorites.

Love Valley
The length of the Love Valley is 4900 meters. Although the entrance to the valley is not very suitable for vehicles, it is still accessible here. The moment you squeeze your teeth, you will be waiting for a beauty that will never regret you. Right after the landing, the water that comes in front will make your work difficult. However, the only time you have survived this short zone is to remove this pleasure. The most important feature of Cappadocia and the Love Valley and the elements that make this place wonderful are the fairy chimneys. Different sizes, colors, and even the impressive expression of light, these views will make you fall in love with yourself. It looks like the hats of the Smurfs we're fans of. Time travel between vineyards and fruit trees lasts approximately 2.5 hours. If you are accustomed to nature walks, you are sure to remember your moments happily after this region where you can finish in a short time with a slight tempo. But even if you say “I am not used to nature walking “, you will not even understand that you are tired of the beauty of the region. Whatever your choice, you will see it worth it.
This is another shot from the last batch of images from my D5100. Since I now switched to Canon as my 2.nd camera, I guess I will find out if it is the camera or the monkey behind it which causes problems.
The image was taken in Asker last week around sunset. I have previously posted a shot from this location which I like a lot.

Due to the fact that the sun sets behind some hills, the glorious last rays can not be captured in Asker.
Thanks for stopping by.
All comments are appreciated
My good Flickr contact and Fujifilm X-T gear colleague Bram de Jong commented on an earlier photo of Caffè Sicilia. He asked if I also took photos with the line of fire more parallel to the counter. For the reasons of more depth, a better view of the small café, angle-wise and just out of pure interest.
I responded that I would think about it… So, I did for about 2 seconds. The remaining time I needed for post-production.
This is the second shot of Caffè Sicilia. I think this one is not as strong as the first (see underneath in the comment section) with regards to making contact between the people in the photo and “you” looking at the photo. However, it gives a better impression of the local atmosphere in Caffè Sicilia – when there are not too much tourists around, how proud the staff is and the depth along the counter ;-).
Please tell me your thoughts on which of the two photos you like and why! Just take a little time to elaborate. I will highly appreciate it and will respond accordingly.
About the Caffè
In Noto, on the island of Sicily, the outwardly unassuming and humble 127-year-old Caffè Sicilia is a must see and must taste. One hasn’t been to Sicily when one has not set foot in this palace of taste, flavour, natural ingredients and tradition. The fourth-generation owner, Corrado Assenza and his wife Nives, proudly serves pastries, goodies and drinks. Some experts consider the cannoli, gelati and granita to be Italy’s finest. And concur after a small tasting.
Caffè Sicilia is popular gathering place. There are a few tables outside and a bit more inside (in a neighbouring room from the shop). Many tourists are queuing for those few tables. But the real magic happens and can be seen at the bar. There you see the staff preparing all the delights. Have the biggest chance of seeing Corrado Assenza at work. So, don’t queue up. Do as local Italians do, have a coffee (NB: those two cups are Esther’s and mine:-) at the bar and a small talk with the staff. Oké… and in my case take a photo.
Technical stuff
The lighting in Caffè Sicilia is not bright. Therefore I used a 2000 ISO, f4.0 (which is rather low for the DoF) and 1/140 and 2/3 stop under. I used 16 mils to get it all in.
Post-production consisted of LR and Silver Efex Pro 2 by Nik collection. In Silver Efex I used the Full Dynamic (Harsh) pre-set and then went from there. I fiddled with the toning, the [spot adjustment] tool, the grain and the overall structure, brightness and contrast. Finally, I added copyright signs (in PS). The latter is, alas, there to stay due to the fact that my photos were frequently copied. So, don't bother commenting on that.

Lel, It's been quite the work in progress, but I'm extremely happy to announce the completion of Andrew Somers MH-6 Little Bird, and boy oh boy it feels really good to cross something off my to do list, and especially to have something as freaking kick-ass as this little model, which is extremely accurate in every aspect including them swooshes. Anyone with questions about how to build the MH-6 please ask Andrew who I've tagged below.
Ask Any Girl has been one of my favorite Poppys for a long time. I never thought I'd get a chance to own her, since she's an older convention doll, but I saw a chance to get her on Ebay and nearly lost my mind. <3 <3 <3 She was transformed into a more natural style by her previous owner but she's still got that AAG thing about her that I just can't pinpoint that I love.
Who are YOUR "Holy Grail" dolls?
Stranger #67 – Marine
I saw Marine walking with a friend of hers in the street, I approached them and asked Marine
Marine is studying psychology, if I remember correctly she has a degree in biology and decided to study psychology after her degree in biology. “What we’ve studied so far is general psychology, cognitive psychology, we’re learning how the brain works. 5-10 years from now? Why not have my own practice? My neuropsychology practice, or work in an association, or in a hospital. There are a lot of associations which hire neuropsychologists. I’d love working in one which helps women. My advice to myself? It’s not a waste of time, believe in yourself and go for it!”
Thank you very much Marine!

Merci beaucoup Marine!

Uzak Aşk
Göremezsin sevdiğini
Koklayamazsın, sevemezsin
Elini saçlarına atıp okşayamazsın
Gözlerine bakıp hayallere dalamazsın
Elini tutup umuda doğru koşamazsın
Başın sevdasıyla dönerken yarin
Dizine koyup rahatlayamazsın
Beraberce bağırarak türkü söyleyemezsin
Dünyaya sevdiğini haykıramazsın
Kısacası sevdiğinle hiç bir şey yaşayamazsın
Sadece kalpleriniz birdir
Hayalleriniz birdir
Gönüller birdir.
Sevgiler birdir
İşte bu dur uzaktakini sevmek!
7 cans deep, first one ive been happy with for a while, looks like a late halloween!
ill tune,ill fvideo
YALNIZ BİR OPERA
Ölü bir yılan gibi yatıyordu aramızda
Yorgun, kirli ve umutsuz geçmişim
Oysa bilmediğin birşey vardı sevgilim
Ben sende bütün aşklarımı temize çektim
İmrendiğin, öfkelendiğin
Kızdığın, ya da kıskandığın diyelim
Yani yaşamışlık sandığın
Geçmişim
Dile dökülmeyenin tenhalığında
Kaçırılan bakışlarda
Gündeliğin başıboş ayrıntılarında
Zaman zaman geri tepip duruyordu.
Terk ettin.

His wife had prepared some simple vegetarian food which we ate in the walled back garden warmed by the early spring sunshine. Between mouthfuls he talked about his herbal medicine and his frequent trips to nearby Jade Dragon Snow Mountain where he would gather his herbs.
After lunch he asked me if I had any ailments which he could find a remedy for. "I have a persistent cough" I said. "Do you smoke?" he asked. I raised my hand to show the cigarette I was holding expecting a lecture on the perils of smoking. "No, no, do you smoke marijuana? ... I have some if you want it, it grows wild here."
my wife asked me,
where have you been the last three hours ?
I created a picture.
Wow, she said, looks like a Mackintosh.
I didn't think of Charles Rennie ... I was just in a flow ...
I said, pretending to be indignant
and smiled at her ...
:::))) ...
have left the grid several times, that's the only way good things happen ...
grid versus texture versus pattern ...
;-) ...
Because I mentioned Ch.R.Mc ...
I could have also mentioned Oswald Mathias Ungers ...
Mackintosh was contradictory in a contradictory time of upheaval ... he admired the style, Wiki thinks, because of its restraint and economy of means rather than ostentatious accumulation; its simple forms and natural materials rather than elaboration and artifice; and its use of texture and light and shadow rather than pattern and ornament. In the old western style, furniture was seen as ornament that displayed the wealth of its owner; the value of the piece was established according to the length of time spent creating it. In the Japanese arts furniture and design focused on the quality of the space, which was meant to evoke a calming and organic feeling to the interior.
At the same time a new philosophy concerned with creating functional and practical design was emerging throughout Europe: modernism. The central aim in modernism was to develop a purity of expression with designs explicitly responsive to intended building use. Ornament and traditional styles were demoted. Although Mackintosh has been counted as a pioneer of modernism, his work always retained a decorative sensibility and features ornament. Mackintosh took his inspiration from his Scottish upbringing and blended them with the flourish of
Art Nouveau
and the simplicity of Japanese forms.
While working in architecture, Charles Rennie Mackintosh developed his own style: a contrast between strong right angles and floral-inspired decorative motifs with subtle curves (for example, the Mackintosh Rose motif), along with some references to traditional Scottish architecture. The project that helped make his international reputation was the Glasgow School of Art (1897–1909). During the early stages of the Glasgow School of Art Mackintosh also completed the Queen's Cross Church project in Maryhill, Glasgow. It is the only built Mackintosh church design and is now the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society headquarters. As with his contemporary
Frank Lloyd Wright,
Mackintosh's architectural designs often included extensive specifications for the detailing, decoration, and furnishing of his buildings. The majority, if not all, of this detailing and significant contributions to his architectural drawings were designed and detailed by his wife Margaret Macdonald whom Charles had met when they both attended the Glasgow School of Art. Their work was shown at the eighth
Vienna Secession Exhibition
in 1900.

I've been challenged by SueQ10 to post five black and white pictures on five consecutive days (that's one on each of the five days), and on each of those days to challenge another person to do the same.
This is my 2nd challenge.
The 2nd person I'm going to ask to take up this challenge of five black and white images in five days is Robert L Whitehead . (Hope you don’t mind me asking, Robert, you don't have to do it but if you do decide to take up the challenge, you don't have to do it straight away.)
Aşk Bir Antik Kenttir
Geçmişte kalan günlerden
Bir yığın hüzün kalır elimizde
Ve artarak korkunçlaşan yalnızlık
Ve yaşanamamış hayaller
Kırgındır gönül yaşlıdır
Aşk ise uzaklarda kaybolan
Antik bir kenttir artık
Ok! Asking for some help: I have two Switch heads and I need to get them bodies. Those three are my favourites but I'm not sure about resin match. The easier one to get would be the Littlemonica one (as I can use layaway...) and Sadol's is beautiful too.
But I'm not sure about the sqlab one as the neck seems smaller...
Any help would be wonderful!

One of our models asked if she could bring a friend along to our small group shoot. Her friend had never shot before and wanted to try it. No worries. Haley was the friend. She was so quiet and nervous but once we started she was like an accomplished pro. What a beautiful young lady - it's hard to believe she just had a baby a few months earlier. I have the feeling this is going to be the first of many shoots with this awesome young lady.
I took these photos at a local cemetery at the end of September 2021.
