Walking through my usual escape of historic Elvaston Castle, I don't always take my camera; most times I live to regret that decision. Each visit is not only thinking time but an exploration to discover that something that I'm yet to discover. Just one hour of outdoor time rarely fails to clear the cobwebs and centre my thoughts. I'm grateful to have such a treasure on my doorstep.

Read an inspiring quote every day. Why you may ask? Well I struggles with depression and since I started posting pictures on Flickr I started reading inspiring quotes. I figured if you weren't inspired by my photos maybe the words attached to them would inspire you instead. But guess what happened? I started feeling better. I am unsure if it is the pictures or reading all these really cool quotes but either way I feel better. That is the real win!

March has been an incredible month for me and my Light Painting Photography Workshops. I just want to take a moment to thank the schools, organisations and individuals who have worked with me to make some really special things happen this month including several school Workshops, working with Wex Photographic, and travelling out to Luxembourg to teach at an International School which was a real highlight.
Some incredible work has been created along the way and it makes me fizz with joy when I look at all the images that have been created over the past few weeks. Well done everyone :)

After years of freelance work to "pay the bills", I've decided to go back to university. That's right! I'm going for a MPS in Art Therapy. I'm shooting for Pratt Institute. For more information on the program: www.pratt.edu/creative_arts_therapy
My concentration will be on children. More specifically, those most in need. Those who've suffered the most terribly ---> in other words, the socio & economically disadvantaged, those sexually, emotionally and/or physically abused, the neglected & the abandoned children, as well as children diagnosed with Autism.

My new original mixed-media artwork created with oils, acrylics, and collage elements. This piece captures a moment of passion, movement, and connection—two souls dancing together, locked in a romantic embrace. just in time for my (past) birthday, we had the terrifying surprise of a second, equally strong earthdquake... two big tremors, one in the evening, one at night (the heaviest) and many more aftershakes, getting weaker over the last two days.
How can I sum it up -- it is a big test for our nerves, my daughter this time very upset... we have to take each day at a time and thank for our stable studio situation, no more damage here... but all the other buidlings around have visibly suffered more, seen here the old house with its growing wound. The heybarn in worse shape, can we still get to our firewood? Hopefully we can move to another house close by very soon... the studio can be visited from there without problems. Preparing for the big fair in Hamburg, 2 weeks left... art is therapy! more than ever...

Chapter 4: Shut It Out - When you shut things out, most of it goes away - except for a lingering discomfort ... of betrayal. Who can you trust? Who is fair? Who is kind? Who has empathy? The lack of decorum is disgraceful. You keyboard warriors and trolls; You screen shooters and virtual gossips - Are you this way In Real Life? Or do you skulk away in a corner? Regardless. I shut you out.

"My right side's on the left side..." Apparently I'm supposed to start using my left hand more often to give my right shoulder a much-needed rest. I did manage to hold my camera in my left hand and use the self-timer for this shot, but I assure you, left-handed mouse clicking, tooth-brushing, batter-mixing and push-ups are NOT in my future!
