Happy first day of Spring!! I created this image without a thought of Spring but I couldn't think of a better day to post this! 💚

Out of something broken, bleak or sad something beautiful can still grow. As Brooke Shaden said, "we are all so human it hurts sometimes." We just have to remember that we aren't meant to remain broken, and winter doesn't last forever.

Out of the bleakness of winter, spring comes, and brings new life 💚

When something drains the life out of you then you need to reevaluate. When something doesn't drains the life out of you it drains your creativity and happiness. We all need to focus more on the things that feed our soul 💞

Lately I've been missing out on all of your posts here and having creative time 😔 but that should all change soon because I graduate in a month, a MONTH!! To say I'm beyond excited is an understatement. This weekend though I plan to take a little break and do a shoot! 📷 .

.

Does anyone else have any fun plans? .

.

Thanks to @stevierayrosario for your help with this! .

"There is, one knows not what sweet mystery about this sea, whose gently awful stirrings seem to speak of some hidden soul beneath..." - Herman Mellvile .

Taking self portraits with people around can be a bit awkward 😯 I'm in a long flowy dress, barefoot and making weird poses next to this boat - they must think in crazy, I thought to myself 😂😆 but taking these photos was one of the highlights of our trip! There's just something about this part of the creating process that I love 😊 💙 getting my feet muddy and my dress wet, what could be more fun 😂

Thanks to @stevierayrosario for your help! 😁 .

"I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death." -Robert Fulghum

As per my usual self inspiration struck at the last minute and I just HAD to get my hands on a prism! 🌈😂 luckily we found the ONE place in town that sells them! You would think it would be easy to get a prism to reflect on someone's face 😨 ....many many tries later we finally got it. Thanks @stevierayrosario for all your patience 😁 .

I’ve always had a fascination with all things Philatelic… and through various circumstantial events, I was encouraged to develop one of the illustrations from my new book “Frederick Bear ~ A Tale of Bern” for Swisspost.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This work is called “Growl” and is the penultimate drawing in the book. The illustration was done completely on the iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil at 8K resolution! I combined this drawing in Photoshop in many layers to craft a postage stamp from it.

You can see more of the book here.

abstract studies #digitalpainting #2021

from the work of Nicolas de Stael.

Nicolas de Stael is one of my favorite painters. He was born in St Petersburg in 1913 and died in Antibes in 1955.

He is a flayed of modern art, a hard worker in the service of an abstract sensibility. He is undoubtedly one of the most mysterious painters of the 20th century. His career will have the dazzling effect of a meteor, whose race will end in Antibes, where he will commit suicide at the age of 41. This tragic end somewhat obscures the figure of an artist in constant questioning, inspired by color and light, feverish in writing as in painting. A romantic life in the 20th century.
