No thunder,
just the quiet fall of breath.
Blanket wrapped,
thoughts drip away.
Last night’s laughter
still echoes in the hall —
gentle rain,
gentle heart,
and the cheering crowd
fading into peace.
bend like bamboo
in a winter wind—
unbroken,
unhurried,
holding nothing but the breath.
patience is not waiting;
it is the quiet strength
of a heart that knows
storms pass,
pain softens,
and even the coldest dawn
finds its light again.

IN the "old" days photography enriched opportunities for artists and transformed the artistic landscape; AI art has taken away opportunities for artists and ultimately has contributed little to the art landscape. Photographers have proven to be capable of creating meaning beyond mere mechanism; AI artists lack the ability to create meaning because the artistic process is only a mechanism. Photography requires skill that directly relates to the output; AI art does not require skill or intentionality. Photography captures things that already exist in a transformative way; AI simply imitates without intentional or meaningful transformation.
While photography has expanded the realm of artistic expression, AI art threatens to undermine it–and thus is unlikely to be accepted as a true artistic medium.
