Close some doors today. Not because
of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but
simply because they lead nowhere.

A bird who refused to turn around to smile at me.
Maybe she's a snob or a little bit shy
But the hell I care. Hmf!
As long as she waltzed
To spread her wings in arrogance.

The wolf our soul ....
One night an old Indian man spoke to his grandson
about the battle that is going on in people's souls. He said:
"My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' within us all"
One is Evil. - It is anger, jealousy, sadness, frustration, greed,
arrogance, self-pity, guilt, insult, inferiority, lies,
vanity, arrogance, and...... Ego.
The other is Good. - It's joy, peace, love, hope, serenity,
humility, kindness, charity, compassion, generosity,
truth, compassion, and faith to the Great Spirit. '
The grandson thought for a minute and then asked his grandfather:
"Which wolf wins?"
The old Indian simply replied ...
"The one you feed."

"Welcher Wolf gewinnt?"
Der alte Indianer antwortete einfach ...
"Der,den Du fütterst."

" A clock stopped -- not the mantel's
Geneva's farthest skill
Can't put the puppet bowing
That just now dangled still.
An awe came on the trinket!
The figures hunched with pain,
Then quivered out of decimals
Into degreeless noon.
It will not stir for doctors,
This pendulum of snow;
The shopman importunes it,
While cool, concernless No
Nods from the gilded pointers,
Nods from seconds slim,
Decades of arrogance between
The dial life and him."
- Emily Dickinson, "A Clocked Stopped"
A wonderful planet that offers naturally renewing itself every season. He suffers because of our arrogance. Yet it does not abandon us. It looks like a forest, like an animal but with a big heart. Greetings dear Earth and forgive again, our arrogance.
And you stare at me
In your Jesus Christ pose
Arms held out
Like you've been carrying a load
And you swear to me
You don't want to be my slave
But you're staring at me
Like I, like I need to be saved, saved
Like I need to be saved, saved
In your Jesus Christ pose
In your Jesus Christ pose
Arms held out
In your Jesus Christ pose
Thorns and shroud
Like it's the coming of the lord
And I swear to you
That I'd never feed you pain
But you're staring at me
Like I'm, like I'm driving the nails, nails
Like I'm driving the nails, nails
Like I'm driving the nails (Nails)
Nails (Nails), nails (Nails)
Like I'm driving the nails (nails), nails
In your Jesus Christ pose
In your Jesus Christ pose
Arms held out
In your Jesus Christ pose
Thorns and shroud
It's the coming of the lord
Would it pain you more to walk on water
Than to wear a crown of thorns
It wouldn't pain me more to bury you rich
Than to bury you poor
Poor (in your Jesus Christ pose)
Poor (in your Jesus Christ pose)

The ascending view of the stairs always gives me the positive feeling, pushes me to improve and motivate me to make effort to rise in the life. We should always strive for improvement in life, work, relationship, skills, ability, thoughts, etc. The improvement means not better than others but better than ourselves from our previous level but with humility and not with arrogance.
Where the song of the black horn sings
And the raven sounds wise
Where ghosts strife the bogs
And where two sisters spin in a dance
The wisest person might know not to make deals with the fae. They would know not to drink or eat of the fruit of their land and to choose their words carefully lest a deal be formed. Still, desire runs deep and arrogance is the downfall of humans. The sisters lay in wait, prepared with a feast of temptation for those too foolish to heed the warnings.

If there is something, we can learn from cats, then it's their serenity, often misinterpreted as arrogance. They always seem, like standing above almost everything. They don't have to chum up or adapt themselves. They are just there. This is something, I really admire. This little kitten here is, by the way, two weeks old and has already the countenance of a diva.

~ Home Sickness ~ Poem by me ~ 03.27.2015 - 06.04.2015
I don't understand cold souls and their relentless need,
The ever-empty longing they fill with vampire greed;
The wasted energy to feed a black hole,
In an elusive quest to find a complete whole.
In their endless hunts to sully new prey,
To suck warm life (fresh blood every day);
They crave a warm passion they silently yearn for,
Yet trade it for cold heat they're willing to burn for.
... Still...
In their callous naïve arrogance they miss an obvious irony,
Home lives in your own core, the hearth inside you and me.

edited in icolorama and picsart
This is originally a B&W photo i took of a statue reminiscent of a helmet alongside the Mexico City Cathedral, which was part of a temporary exhibition. First i planned to use it in a photo series about the Spanish conquer of the Mexica Empire. But when i began to play with it in icolorama it occurred to me that it could be used the opposite way, as if a Christian civilization is conquered by pagan warriors. In my eyes, that way the 'conquest logic' could be bared in all its absurdity as what really is: a macho arrogance display, no matter where it comes from.
The "washed" finish, stains and red details were added in icolorama, and the blue ones in PicsArt.
Tonight, my senses are misty like rare black Orchid flowers, everything is clearer in a moment when time freezes.
Even in our supplication rituals to the unknown creator, we can be held captive by the chains of arrogance, far from the awareness of our helplessness. As soon as you begin to be purified in the infinity of feelings, you will break your chains and see that everything is possible.
Close your eyes
Are you ready to be cleansed?

The following items of sculpture have been taken over a period of time. I have visited the Museum on many occasions and still enjoy the experience.
These images have been taken in The Sculpture Gallery and show the best, in my opinion, of all the sculptured heads in the museum. They represent Roman characters both male and female showing their pride, their arrogance, their power and the assuredness of their class.
These statues are not original but have been cast from the originals, I think they were cast sometime in the 19th century but I’m not absolutely sure.

is the only genuine kind. Vanity and arrogance only diminish the beauty we see on the outside. I think that's what I love so much about horses. They are so incredibly beautiful but they lack vanity and arrogance. They just are what they are without even trying.
i looked down from the summit

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The Almighty Zeus.
Ruler of Olympus.
All cocky and arrogant.
That arrogance you Gods carry will be your downfall.
You took everything from me. Even my very soul.
But when I was lost, deep down in the hellfires of the abyss, these blades saved me.
They gave me a purpose.
Now they burn with my rage and anger.
Enjoy your last day, for today I will prove to you that a God can bleed too.
And everything that bleeds, can die.

A huge ego is your worst enemy. An inflated ego can lead you astray and ruin your life. It can destroy your relationships, prevent you from recognizing opportunities, and inhibit true success. Granted, we all need self-esteem and confidence to win in this world. But when confidence becomes arrogance, you risk ruining everything you’ve worked hard to build.

Thank you for your visits and comments!. especially appreciated about my long time Flickr friend's supporting on my works!.
In America now, we are very lucky indeed. We've had three different vaccinations (Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson) available to all people 12 and over for enough time for everyone to be fully vaccinated and yet we're still hovering around 50% for our vaccination rate and now the Delta variant is really causing some breakthrough infections of those already vaccinated and, of course, killing many people who are not vaccinated. In the midst of this, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) decided to apply some sort of bizarre honor system where only people who were unvaccinated would have to be masked indoors, which absolutely doesn't work because the same people who are anti-mask are the same people who are anti-vax. And, for the spaces and places that would enforce the vaccination, there's a whole industry now of fake vaccination cards people can show so they can continue to risk their lives and others.
At the end of the day, the people in my country just don't realize how good they have it and fall prey to spoiled entitlement and/or conspiracy theories. The cognitive dissonance required to still believe Coronavirus is a hoax even after our previous president, (demon Trump) actually contracted it is baffling and completely illogical.
Meanwhile, our leaders continue to fail us, ignoring the new Delta strain's capabilities to be spread easier outdoors easier, to be spread even within a vaccinated population because of a viral load 1000x that of the original strain, and because it only takes a couple of minutes or less vs. 15 minutes of exposure. So while our hospitals are getting filled up here in this country yet again, we're still having stadiums filled to capacity and large music festivals.
The gravestone of America will read.....

Sweet torrents of Death
Oh engulfing ruin
Every fall is a soul
For Belial
In sinless guilt rushing
Blasts of yokeless glory
To and fro - Red ascension
Collecting souls
For Belial
For Belial
And as our voice uncovers
Another soul to the stream
Another soul devoured
For Belial
Oh lawless angel we approach thee
In the form of proudest shame
We thy children - here assembled
Now thy promised blessing claim
Promised blessing claim
Lord of arrogance - lord of pride
Fling thy unrestrained nets thrice
And let the rivers of the under world
Swiftly to the surface rise
Oh spirit of darkness we invoke thee
In the name of all things depraved
We thy servants - here forgathered
Now thy promised blessing claim
Promised blessing claim
Sweet torrents of death
Oh engulfing ruin
Every fall is a soul
For Belial
For Belial
For Belial
Angels of sweed
Ever rising decline
Every slip is a soul
For Belial
For Belial
For Belial
In sinless guilt rushing
Blasts of yokeless glory
To and fro - Red ascension
Collecting souls
For Belial
For Belial
And as our voice uncovers

"Only humans are capable of arrogance or of seeing themselves as superior to other animals. Animals cannot rise to that level of abstraction." - Tom Bethell.
I took this as part of the "Gone to Ground" collection, but I have to say, this is one of my many pet peeves against the human race, when I walk my dog and have to negotiate the laziness of people who leave shattered glass on the pavement, that and materialistic consumerism instead of researching the realness of the world, of what's really going on?! It's simply too easy to shout "Conspiracy Theorists" or "Nutjob" but like Albert Einstein was once said...
"Condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance."
And as we all know, arrogance and ignorance go hand in hand. And you'd be so surprised of how much we don't know. I am not in any way wholly misanthropic, but if the human race is really going to start waking up, then it needs to start doing it faster!
Sorry if this appears a touch negative, but things are getting serious, however, with that said though, I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)
No faltan anécdotas.
________________________________________________
Opposite the imposing Hagia Sophia, on the other side of the park, as if locked in a silent duel of beauty, rises the Mosque of Sultan Ahmed, a direct yet reimagined heir to Byzantine grandeur. Designed by Sedefkar Mehmet Ağa, a disciple of the great Sinan, the mosque marks the culmination of the classical period of Ottoman architecture. While Hagia Sophia overwhelms with its massive stone presence, here everything rises in harmony. A choreography of domes and semi-domes gently ascends, culminating in a central dome — smaller, yes, but perfectly orchestrated.
From the courtyard, the view is striking. The marble stretches out like a mirror of the architecture, and the central fountain waits in silence, inviting one to pause and take it all in.
There’s no shortage of anecdotes. The most famous: the scandal of its six minarets, a number previously reserved only for the mosque in Mecca. Arrogance? Devotion? It was resolved with Ottoman diplomacy: a seventh minaret was added to the one in Mecca. Thus, Istanbul and Islam remained at peace.
