Me visto de añoranza

feliz en tu patio de lilas.
Ruido de juegos, cantos, risas,
sueños primeros, ilusiones,
patio arbolado, vida encendida,
jazmines trepadores,
sueños de niña.
La casa que me despertó a la vida
pasó..., todos se fueron,
nada quedó del patio de lilas.

Looking Close on Friday - Week 8 Perfume Bottles

... quando torno ne assaporo gli odori
odori di foglie che tappezzano il lungotevere sotto i miei passi...
odori di suoni d'altri tempi che mi accompagnano lungo le viuzze del centro
non le strade affollate da turisti, dalle mille vetrine scintillanti
ma i vicoli meno battuti e, per questo, più veri,
dove si respira ancora l'aria della Roma di qualche secolo fa...
qui non si ha difficoltà ad immaginare carrettieri e nobili matrone, guitti e principi, cardinali e prostitute ...
la prossima volta che capitate a Roma fatevi un giro tra i vicoli, quelli nella zona di Via dei Banchi Vecchi ... potreste provare le sensazioni che ho descritto ... e, magari, potremmo incontrarci, inconsapevoli gli uni degli altri ...

Tried the Canon out on the incense smoke shot for this frame. The lighting was a bit bright on the knob and cast a shadow on the incense smoke rising.
Ransoms & Bluebells
It's really peak Bluebell season now and there are quite a lot of places you can find them including well known spots like Micheldever Woods. There are also places where Ransoms do well. However, this is the only wood I know of 'near' me that has both. Not saying there aren't others but not that I know of.
I really like the contrast between the bluebells and Ransom flowers and the Ransom leaves are so lush. I have been visiting this wood weekly for the last 3 weeks keeping an eye on the wild garlic and it's now starting to take off. I think the peak will be in the next week or so but 'unfortunately' I'll be in Cornwall next 2 weekend so Bank Holiday Monday I decided I'd return and shoot them as they were. it was a very still day so I managed to do a series of 5 focus stacked images and then did some selective painterly post processing. I've reduced the saturation on the greens a bit because although they really were lush it seemed a bit OTT for my taste.
This isn't a big wood and they have done a lot of restoration work on it so I did keep to the paths although evidence of people taking photos of their kids or selfies within the bluebells. I won't therefore divulge where they are but if anyone who regularly comments on my photos wants to know where these woods are then drop me a note and happy to tell you. If it helps it's within 90mins drive of Winchester.

Was burning a Pinion incense for the cold day affect. This smoke shot came out a nose sniffing up the aroma. Added some texture and light for this Sunday slide, using the Nikon Coolpix B700.
A wise photographer told me: "we try SO hard to make sharp sharp front-to-back-tack-sharp photographs, when these hybrid impressionist/crisp combos made with the lens wide open make flower photographs look JUST like the rose's heady aroma."

During one of my walks yesterday I noticed a very wonderful aroma in the air. After looking around I noticed a bush with many of these little flowers - I think they are the source of the aroma LoL.
