The best place in the world is in the arms of someone who will not only hold you at your best, but will pick you up and hug you tight at your weakest moment. Unknown

In Your Arms

"Wind howls in my hair

The world stops when you come this near

Starlight on your skin

The sky sways as you pull me in

And I... I wanna swim in your ocean

I... wanna know how to love again

Take me into your arms

Sirens call

How fast I fall

Beneath your waves

No storm can take

My eyes from you

Crash down to my knees

Their fears and hopes flood over me

Your hand finds my own

And shows me that I'm not alone

Now I... I'm diving deep in your ocean

I... see the way to redemption

Take me into your arms

Sirens call

How fast I fall

Beneath your waves

No storm can take

My eyes from you"

🎶🎶🎶

There were always signs of you

Hidden in clear view

Saw pieces of you scattered cross the landscape of my life

Your yes belong to fragments of nostalgia

Your hands and your smile too

Though every part of you is new

There was only ever you

In your arms, in your arms

I will wait oh I will wait

In your arms, in your arms

I will stay oh I will stay

Did you look away

Or did you try to hide your face

In broken photographs or passing glances

Out of time

Wish I had never known a life without you

Let's rewrite this book anew

And every page that I read through

Is a new memory of you

In your arms, in your arms

I will wait oh I will wait

In your arms, in your arms

I will stay oh I will stay

In your arms, in your arms

I will wait oh I will wait

In your arms, in your arms

I will stay oh I will stay

Will stay...

I don't believe in an interventionist God

But I know, darling, that you do

But if I did I would kneel down and ask Him

Not to intervene when it came to you

Not to touch a hair on your head

To leave you as you are

And if He felt He had to direct you

Then direct you into my arms

Into my arms, O Lord

Into my arms, O Lord

Into my arms, O Lord

Into my arms

And I don't believe in the existence of angels

But looking at you I wonder if that's true

But if I did I would summon them together

And ask them to watch over you

To each burn a candle for you

To make bright and clear your path

And to walk, like Christ, in grace and love

And guide you into my arms

I call this the octopus pole. It has eight arms carrying all the different lines. However, that is not what caused me to stop In the road on this wet cloudy day.

What I find unusual is that the lines cross the road to this pole, just so they can immediately cross back to where they started on the other side of the road again.

Does that make any sense?

Happy Telegraph Tuesday!

I was listening to this fantastic song by Plumb while editing this photo: In My Arms

The Willoughby Arms in Little Bytham. It used to be the train station pub when there was a train station, I took this photo from the old car park of the station. Closed in Covid-lockdown when this was taken. I've not been in here, will have to pop in at some point when it re-opens.

If I die in your arms

It's right where I'm supposed to be

You know I'm not afraid

As long as you're next to me (so tell me)

So tell me, will you hold me

When the curtains close

If I died in your arms

It's right where I'm supposed to be (If I died)

Wood Rides

Who hath not felt the influence that so calms

The weary mind in summers sultry hours

When wandering thickest woods beneath the arms

Of ancient oaks and brushing nameless flowers

That verge the little ride who hath not made

A minutes waste of time and sat him down

Upon a pleasant swell to gaze awhile

On crowding ferns, bluebells and hazel leaves

And showers of lady smocks so called by toil

When boys sprote gathering sit on stulps and weave

Garlands while barkmen pill the fallen tree

- Then mid the green variety to start

Who hath (not) met that mood from turmoil free

And felt a placid joy refreshed at heart

To me Peyto Lake looks like a figure with her arms reaching out.

Peyto Lake is fed by a glacier that gives it that gorgeous turquoise green colour.

Although it rained every day that we were in the Rockies we were lucky enough to get some sunny breaks. With the sun shining through the clouds we were rewarded with an interesting pattern on the surface of the lake.

The coat of arms of pope Alexander VII (of the Chigi family). In one of the smaller rooms at Palazzo Nuovo, at the Musei Capitolini in Rome. The coat of arms is from the time of his papacy, so from sometime 1655-67.

A use for the wide angle lens (10mm). Never been able to catch more than half this scene without stitching before. But it is taking some getting used to.

Ho visto cose che il ratto ha visto

E i miei occhi non potevano accettarle

Voglio solamente cadere qui in silenzio

Tra le braccia delle persone che amo

Sotto stelle che attendono, mentre le navi entrano…

Saw things that the rat saw

And my eyes couldn't take them in

Just want to fall here silently

Into the arms of people I love

Under waiting stars as the ships come rolling in…

The silence feels empty and taunting

It leaves you with nothing

but your thoughts.

It makes you remember that there's

nothing heavier than empty arms.

I never knew how loud

silence could be.

The Farmers Arms pub (or Farmer's Arms) off Bickenhall Lane at West Hatch, Taunton Deane in Somerset.

A 16th century inn... in a converted farmhouse.

Vineyards above lake Geneva/Leman/Genfersee east of Lausanne, Switzerland. Does anyone know the name of this tree? It's everywhere in urban France, and to a much lesser extent Spain, the branches are cut down every winter, they grow tall thin branches with fat leaves in summer.

Hoxton, Islington, North London. A Victorian pub converted into a four bedroom luxury home with a roof terrace and a studio flat. Valued at £1.75million.

Christ the Redeemer (Portuguese: Cristo Redentor, standard Brazilian Portuguese: is an Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, created by French sculptor Paul Landowski and built by the Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa, in collaboration with the French engineer Albert Caquot. Romanian sculptor Gheorghe Leonida fashioned the face. The statue is 30 metres (98 ft) tall, excluding its 8-metre (26 ft) pedestal, and its arms stretch 28 metres (92 ft) wide.[1][2]

The statue weighs 635 metric tons (625 long, 700 short tons), and is located at the peak of the 700-metre (2,300 ft) Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park overlooking the city of Rio. A symbol of Christianity across the world, the statue has also become a cultural icon of both Rio de Janeiro and Brazil, and is listed as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.[3] It is made of reinforced concrete and soapstone, and was constructed between 1922 and 1931.

I love Bristol. Its only a few minutes away form whee I live but the mentality of the city is was different - more alive and vibrant.
