The three islands of the Cies archipelago off the coast of Galicia, Spain, photographed from a ship leaving the port of Vigo.
Surrounded by nothing but turquoise lagoon which melts into sapphire blue, the Maldives island of Anantara Kihavah and its pure white sands rise up out of the ocean like a mirage.
For centuries, this was where Arab traders sailing to the Far East took shelter; a lush paradise blessed by coconut, papaya and mango trees. Navigating archipelago to archipelago by the stars, the seafarers were also drawn by the riches of the ocean surrounding the island – where a prehistoric volcano sank back into the depths, leaving blooming corals within a house reef and a wealth of lagoon fish.
Wishing to keep the pristine nature of the island intact, not one tree has been moved – as evidenced by the villas growing up around them. The design pays homage to the seafarers of old, fusing Indian Ocean, Arab and Portuguese motifs with indigenous materials.
Just a few minutes away from the city of Stockholm, the archipelago begins. With nearly 30,000 islands, islets and rocks - from Öregrund in the north to Landsort in the south - each with its own character. Rugged nature blends with wooded islands, rocky cliffs and sandy beaches. Enjoy tranquil coves or the open sea where waves can go high.

This is my first ever daylight long exposure! :)
My girlfriend and I took a few days out and retreated down to Schierke in central Germany. Might I say, this is a place of absolutely outstanding natural beauty. I took about 820 photos when we were down there. Just down from our hotel, was a beautiful forest with a large stream flowing through it, well, what can I say, this to me was a playground and so nice to be breathing cleaner air than in Berlin.
I love forests and so this was an absolute treat; for any photographer of this kind, I recommend this area of the world big time.
