A Long exposure night shot of the San Francisco Bay Bridge.

"But tomorrow, dawn will come the way I picture her,

barefoot and disheveled, standing outside my window

in one of the fragile cotton dresses of the poor.

She will look in at me with her thin arms extended,

offering a handful of birdsong and a small cup of light."

William Collins

In the late afternoon shadows, I passed by this aged window in the historic section of Salem, North Carolina. At one time a thriving German Moravian community, much of the simple european archetecture and atmosphere still exists.

After I shot this I knew it wouldn't be long until I posted it on Flickr. The shadows are just so satisfying. True, the poem is about dawn, but it sorta fit for dusk as well.

Shot during our stay at the Sherrifs this half timbered 17th Century Barn and converted to mono in Lightroom.

A while back I had a big job in Warrington, England. Stole a weekend and caught a train to the big city... Got a chance to take the obligatory London shot of Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster with a double-decker bus going by. :)

Cuboid archetecture in London Docklands

Reflections in a series of windows in London's Pudding Lane

This is a piece artwork well known in Portishead, but I like to put my own stamp on other people's work. Locals may notice that I removed a balcony of some flats from the left.

At the heart of London's famous Highgate cemetery lies the Circle of Lebanon. At the heart of the circle is a massive ancient cedar tree which long predates the Cemetery. It was part of the grounds of Ashurst House, sold in 1830 and demolished to provide a site for the present St Michael's Church.

The cemetery designers kept the great cedar as a key feature in the landscape. It is now like a massive bonsai, its base surrounded by a circle of tombs.

On the inside face they are in the Egyptian style and belong to the 1830s; the tombs on the outer face are later, and mostly in the classical style.

Design and construction of the Barbican estate in the City of London was begun in the 1960s and the residential towers were finally completed in the mid 1970s.

This piece of brutalist archetecture was taken for this week's theme...The 1960s.

The mihrab is the place where the Imam, "the leader of the prayer in Islam," prays and leads the prayers.

This Mihrab is in Sultan Hassan's Mosque in Cairo, Egypt, not far away from Saladin's Citadel.

Taken in Wells Cathedral chapter house architecturally the most beautiful in England. (Wikipedia)

This kind of photo is simple with a fisheye lens using RAW file to get shadows inside and daylight through windows. No need for tripod or stitching shots together.

Thanks for visiting and especially for comments. And thanks to Kimhaz for his heads up. I've altered the title.

I use this telephoto lens a lot. I seem to love the tight compressed photos.

yes, it looks like the photo is crooked, but it's actually the doorway!

So I haven't posted in a little while. Honestly I've been shooting tons over the summer and I'm just a bit overwhelmed at the amount of shots I can share. There is the France trip that I've only posted 2 photos from so far, more great SF shots, the hawks in EA campus, and some cool stuff in general. So with that, I've been avoiding posting, mainly because I can't choose between the great shots I want to post. So here is a start! I will try to post more often!
