The church Saint Elisabeth is the Catholic parish church of Eisenach. It was built after approval of the Grand Duke Carl Alexander in the years from 1886 to 1888 after plans of the Kasseler architects Hugo Schneider in the neo-Gothic style.
Church patroness is holy Elisabeth, landgravine of Thuringia whose life is closely connected with Eisenach and Wartburg. The Marburger Elisabethkirche – above all their tower form – was a model for the a lot of smaller Eisenacher construction.
In Eisenach which belongs to the heartland of the Reformation there had been more than three centuries no Catholics.
Only about 1840 a small municipality had originated from immigration for which on the property of the today's Elisabethkirche a small oratory could be established and be celebrated in the feast day of Saint Elizabeth of Thuringia, the 19th of November, 1844, the first holy mass.

Upon the approval by the ICC of the Ogden Gateway court case in 1967, select Southern Pacific trains began to run through Ogden with Rio Grande crews to Roper Yard in South Salt Lake. The agreement was still in effect as SP SD45T-2 No. 9398 leads an eastbound train into Roper the afternoon of April 15, 1984. Southern Pacific locomotives were turned here and returned to SP rails at Ogden via a westbound train.

The St. Trinity Church , St. Anne's Church and the choir (the former monk's church ) in the suburb of Danzig together with the former Franciscan monastery form a building complex built by the Franciscans in the 15th century.
In 1422, the Gdańsk Council granted the Franciscans a site in the Danzig suburb of 26 rods long and 20 rods wide (approx. 9600 m² / 1 rod = 4.3 m) to build the monastery . The site remained in the possession of the city, and the construction of the buildings was subject to the approval of the council. Shortly after the construction of the monastery began around 1423, a small monk's church was built adjacent to the monastery building, which the brothers could enter via the cloister of the monastery. ... In the same year, 1481, construction began on the three-aisled St. Trinity Church, which was added to the west side of the choir. The vaults of the ships of equal height rest on five opposite pillars. It is connected to the choir via the central nave.

We found the new mommy for this little baby. We already knew which one to take but the direct acceptance of the foal has confirmed us to say that our 24 year old mare, whom we now call Granny, is the perfect mother. Even though she is totally blind, she knows how to take care of others and teach them wisdom.

This Common (Harbour) Seal was just sliding down the sea-weed as we passed in the Zodiac and the angle of view makes it look like she's smiling. It occurs round the coasts of much of the Northern Hemisphere and is the most widely distributed species of pinniped (seals, sea lions, walruses). There are many subspecies but the one found in Britain is the nominate subspecies; vitulinus. They often haul out on rocks at low tide so they can have the cushion of sea-weed to lie on, so they are less likely to damage themselves if they have to make a dash for the water. At high tide the rocks are bare, uncomfortable and dangerous for loafing seals. Most baby seals are white and fluffy but Common Seals moult while they are in utero so have adult-type fur by the time they are born in June and July. Its scientific name Phoca vitulinus, given by Linnaeus translates as "seal like a calf" perhaps because Linnaeus thought the Common Seal had a more calf-like face than Grey Seal.
Down at my favorite Cincinnati place, for the past five years, at least, the Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum, there is a very fine monument dedicated to the Odd Fellows, which sprang from the original Grand United Order of Oddfellows . The huge, tall monument features three women who symbolize Love, Friendship and Truth, and is topped, at the apex of a very tall obelisk, with the statue of one of the influential men of the order.
This huge and beautiful monument is surrounded by concentric rings of members' graves.
I can't remember which of these statues stands for Love, but I think it is the one facing us. That's the one which fits into the February Alphabet Fun month!
Oddfellows started in London, as far back as 1730, and during the next 80 years, or so, changed and re-established themselves during the turbulent political and religious troubles of the time. By the end of that period, they disassociated themselves from any particular religion.
They started chapters in the USA in 1819, which swiftly came to be called the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
The growth of the USA organization, since then, includes troubles with racial acceptance (which, as far as I can tell, has not been amended), the establishment of a women's auxiliary, acknowledgement and approval from the British Oddfellows organization, and the spreading of the USA chapters around the world.
According to Wikipedia, there are about 600,000 members in the USA, and about 2 million worldwide.

Autumn light through Beech hedge.
Autumn scene taken many years ago, and one of the few I posted to Flickr from then. I wonder if it still meets with the kind approval it got at the time. I took 4 shots of this scene at the time, and have posted 3 of them.
