Unlike our Eastern species,the Western was very plentiful,and not very shy.We got great looks and shots with many different birds on the trip.This one was walking around on the road not more than 10ft from us,while we were shooting YHB!

Last week, on Tuesday, January 26th, I woke to a scene I've viewed before. All the tree branches were heavily coated with fresh white snow that had fallen overnight. I cannot view such a scene without thinking, "winter wonderland!" This shot was taken from my living room window with my iPad. The image has been cropped and edited.

Canal boats moored near Bridge 50 on the Oxford Canal at Newbold, Rugby, on a hot, languid afternoon this week. Tony (Guy@Fawkes) and I spent a lovely couple of hours wandering on the towpath, taking pictures, ending up in the Barley Mow pub for a cup of tea. Yes, really, only a cup of tea 😃!

The second of three photos showing how aggressive New Holland honeyeaters can be.

The lower bird started feeding again after the upper bird had used its foot to grab the beak of the lower bird. The upper bird then started staring at the lower one.
