Following a dental appointment this morning, I decided to go for a walk in the local park. Found this Kingbird hunting and singing in the warm sunshine. Life is good… even after a trip to the Dentist : )

Western Kingbird
The Western Kingbird is a large flycatcher found throughout western environments of North America and as far south as Mexico.
Kingbirds are fairly large flycatchers with large heads and broad shoulders. They have heavy, straight bills, long wings, and a medium-length, square-tipped tail.
Easily found perched upright on fences and utility lines, Western Kingbirds hawk insects from the air or fly out to pick prey from the ground. They ferociously defend their territories with wing-fluttering, highly vocal attacks. Vocalizations include long series of squeaky, bubbling calls as well as single, accented kip notes.

Autumn in this long avenue of linden trees is now for me a traditional photo. A long walk more nice in a sunny morning.

On my way home from a doctors appointment I saw 2 Red Tail Hawks - - glad I brought my camera with me - - nothing like shooting through the open window before the car comes to a full stop !
I was surprised how well this burst turned out - - I have a second burst of the other hawk not quite as sharp - - but certainly complaints on this one !
Saw one Snowy Owl too - - but it was way to far for a good photo.

Journée de rendez-vous médicale... Pas toujours drôle de vieillir parfois... Mais pourquoi pas en profiter puisque je suis à Hull pour me rendre à sur un site où mon bon ami Christian Fritschi venait tout juste de partager et essayer de retrouver l'endroit d'un magnifique trésor caché de cette magnifique forêt d'érables enchantée. J'ai fait appel à mon ami de la région d'Ottawa Dennis qui m'avait généreusement partagé le site de la belle Chouette Laponne plus tôt au printemps. Cette fois s'il était question des bébés d'un couple de Chouette rayée, 2 qui aurait fraîchement quitté le nid 3 à 4 jours avant ma visite. J'ai eu la chance de trouver l'endroit et d'y faire des observations comportementales incroyables et des images inédites toute une après-midi. Incapable de résister à l'envie de vous partager la première image qui sera suivie par plusieurs autres éventuellement ! C'est par ailleurs une de toutes premières visions que j'ai eues de ce superbe bébé # 1.

Medical appointment day ... Not always funny to get old sometimes ... But why not take advantage of it since I'm in Hull to go to a site that my good friend Christian Fritschi had just shared and try to find the place of that magnificent hidden treasure of this magical maple forest. I called my friend from the Ottawa area Dennis who had generously shared the site of the beautiful Great Grey Owl earlier in the spring. This time it was about babies of a Barred Owl couple, 2 who would have freshly left the nest 3 to 4 days before my visit. I was lucky to find the place and make incredible behavioral observations and unseen images all afternoon and evening. Can't resist presenting the first image that will be followed by several others eventually! It is also one of the first mink that I had this beautiful baby # 1.
Me: Doc, I Can't Stop Singing "The Green, Green Grass Of Home."
Doctor: That Sounds Like Tom Jones Syndrome.
Me: Is That Common?
Doctor: Well, It's Not Unusual.
Doctor: "...."
Me: "What?"
Doctor: "...."
Me: "WHAT?"
Doctor: "I SAID! You're Going Deaf!"
Me: "Well Doc, That's A Little Hard To Hear."

I had a appointment at the doctor this afternoon and saw this on my way into town. Didn't have time to take its photo then, but did on my way home.

Cinnamon had a Vet appointment yesterday. She wanted me to thank everyone for their love & concern. Her insulin dosage has to increase, yet again, but she’s enduring it. She has a halo device (to prevent her from running into things as much) for her blindness.
