The Radar Convective Applications experiment provides an avenue to obtain forecaster feedback for new applications and products developed for the WSR-88D network. This evaluation will focus on the Tornado Probability Algorithm (TORP), a machine learning single-radar product that detects and tracks potentially tornadic circulations, as well as the single-radar rotation and divergence products AzShear and DivShear to examine their effectiveness in predicting tornadoes and providing important situational awareness during severe weather operations. Visiting forecasters will have the opportunity to direct future development of TORP and its visualization in AWIPS-II by evaluating the products through real-time and archived weather events. Additionally, phased array radar data will be explored for one archived case.

The Health Data Initiative Forum III: The Health Datapalooza was held June 5 and 6, 2012, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The event brought together a diverse group of more than 1,400 data experts, technology developers, entrepreneurs, policy makers, health care system leaders, and community advocates to support innovative applications of health and health care data.
The Health Data Initiative (HDI), originally launched in 2010 by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as the Community Health Data Initiative, is a public-private collaboration that encourages innovators to utilize health data to develop applications to raise awareness of health and health system performance and spark community action to improve health.
