I spent a part of the afternoon chatting with Mr. Kelly Scott. He is well known for his long time work as a blacksmith, cowboy re-enactment participant, historian, and has also appeared in a number of motion pictures with such actors as Roy Rogers. Here he is pictured with one of his wagons (with some parts being 140 years old). I really enjoyed our conversation and was surprised to learn that we had a lot in common (both worked for the same company for over 30 years although in different job descriptions and locations).
2nd Hibiscus of the season. It seems to be enjoying the rainy weather! Best when viewed in the large format for greater detail.
Don't care for the Winter months at all but just have to deal with it! We just moved the Hibiscus plants inside our storage building for protection against the cold weather. They seem to be very content there!
The old timers say "Look Out" when the Sage blooms; here it comes! Harsh rainstorms predicted for the next couple of days ahead. Best when viewed in the large format for greater detail.
Sandi at Garner State Park getting ready for a night of photographing the Milky Way. She is using a Seesta'r S50 telescope as well as a Canon 5D MARK II DSLR camera and a Nikon D850 DSLR camera. The Canon has a 24mm f/1.4 lens and the Nikon has a 35mm f/2.0 lens. Both cameras are mounted on SLIK tripods.
Sandi and I drove over to Bandera to pick up her medical prescriptions at the pharmacy then went over to the hardware store to get some string for the weed eater. When we got out of the car we noticed Mr. Kelly Scott's truck and trailer parked in the lot. It was very interesting, so I walked over to take a look at the trailer with the wagon on it and saw a couple of saddles in the back of the truck. Well worn from long time use!
During our drive in southern NM and AZ we had high winds that caused a lot of dust and created a ton of tumbleweeds. I had exited off Interstate 10 at an isolated spot to photograph the mountains and clouds and noted the exit underpass was full of tumble weeds.
