This Ape is a White-cheeked Gibbon, photographed at the Chicago area’s Brookfield Zoo. White-cheeked Gibbons are critically endangered in their native habitats in Vietnam, Laos, and southern China.

Came and posed nicely for me. Taken through a window, so not exactly the sharpest shot. But, at least it has a little color. Everything around here is white and various shades of grey these days.
The orang utan are a species of great apes that are native to Malaysia and Indonesia. Here at the Singapore Zoo, the resident orang utans here tend to be one of the most popular to zoo visitors over the years, charming many with its intelligence.

Il polline che porta con sé, se lo guardi bene, è una polvere d’oro simile alle stelle, solo che anziché galassie crea l’incantesimo del miele.

A very common beetle species, which can be found on sorrels (Rumex spp). Due to their tiny size (ca 3mm) easy to overlook.

Qualche giorno fa ho trovato quest' Ape che si dimenava disperata dentro una vaschetta dell' acqua in giardino. Naturalmente l' ho tirata fuori e per farla asciugare, l' ho messa sopra un fiore di pesco, come a dirle: "Ti ho salvato e ti ho dato subito lavoro..". In effetti speravo che fecondasse qualche fiorellino, e che magari andasse a chiamare le sue compagne per farsi aiutare, invece mi pare che non sia tornata più nemmeno lei. Stanno diventando davvero preziose, queste magnifiche creature laboriose, bisognerebbe salvaguardarle di più, insieme all' ambiente che le ospita. -))
A few days ago I found this Ape struggling desperately inside a water basin in the garden. Naturally I took it out and to dry it, I put it on a peach blossom, as if to say to her: "I saved you and I immediately gave you work ...". In fact, I was hoping that he would fertilize some little flowers, and that maybe he would go and call his companions to get help, instead it seems to me that she hasn't come back either. These magnificent, hard-working creatures are becoming truly precious, and should be safeguarded more, along with the environment that hosts them. -))
I made this photo of an Apical Flycatcher (Myiarchus apicalis) at Fincas Verdes in San Antonio, Tolima, Colombia. It is found from about 400 to 2,300 meters and is most numerous below 1,700 meters. It is a year-round resident that feeds on insects and fruit. It forages alone or in pairs, taking prey and fruit in sallies from a perch in the low and middle levels. Its tail is brownish with pale creamy tips on all but the central feathers. San Antonio lies in southern Tolima, about 109 km from Ibagué.
I used a Pentax K-1 with the HD Pentax-D FA 150-450mm f/4.5-5.6 for this one, at 1/400 sec, f/5.6, ISO 200. IUCN lists the Apical Flycatcher as Least Concern, with an increasing population.
