In the sleepy little town of Apalachicola, just a block or two from the heart of downtown, you’ll find Honey Hole Liquors. It is perfectly suited for its environment. It provides an important service, after all Apalach is a fishing village at its core. It is tucked away in a low traffic area, but everybody in town knows where it is. It is interesting without drawing attention it itself. It is a quirky little store in a quirky little town that I lived in many years ago.

I processed this in Photoshop and textured it with 2 Lil Owls Chalky Bits 23, French Kiss Creme-Fraiche, and two of my own textures.

this was my other option for the MM arrow theme

figured it works for Textural Tuesday as well

The theme for the Smile on Saturday group this week is vases and flower pots. I happen to have a lot of both.

As I was looking around at them I decided to go with this one. I have had this vase since I was a teenager and my parents owned an antique shop, in the little Ohio town I grew up in.

This vase was made to stand on a table or hang on a wall. I have always kept her on a table or a desk. For the past nineteen years, she has stood upon an antique secretary desk in my room. But now that I am re-doing the room that I now refer to as the rose room, I believe she will go on the wall.

I hope that you smile bunches and bunches today and everyday. Happy snapping.

Working in the archive with photos from my mothers homeland I also find a lot of handmade handle, lock, and old wood darkened by the sunlight.

Careful finishing, and a frame from Shadowhouse.

In the past, there were many Jews living in Morocco and these are some of the items left by them and sold as antiques at Ait Ben Haddou today. In the background is the new bridge linking the new village to the old fortified settlement.

I know you can get antique plates for any vehicle over 25 years old. However, ‘antique’ always gives me an image of a beautifully restored car or truck, with shinny paint and original equipment. IMO this is an ‘old’ Ford truck.

I took a picture of this truck on a sunny day and the glare off the windshield was glaringly obvious and very distracting. I went back the other day when it was cloudy and it worked much better.

I hope someone knows the year of this truck. HTT

I don't know, but it seems as though a booth right next to the door would be a good place for a vendor at an antiques fair; your stuff would be the first thing that potential customers see when they enter, and the last thing to tempt them before they walk out. But in this case, the woman with the stroller just walked right past without a glance. Oh well...

"Construit à la fin du Ier siècle avant J.-C., il date de la première phase d’urbanisation de la colonie romaine fondée par César en –46.

Edifié sur la colline de l’Hauture, il s’inscrit dans le quadrillage romain, sur le décumanus (voie est-ouest).

Fortifié au Moyen Âge et gagné par des constructions parasites, ses propres matériaux ayant souvent été réemployés dans des édifices voisins.

The #MacroMondays theme for 8/3 is #nautical. My mom collected antique and unusual brass buttons for small plaques she fashioned. This button is under an inch. Will measure in a bit when there are no kitties underfoot….

It’s just under 2cms

Staddle Stones

were originally used as supporting bases for granaries, hayricks, game larders, etc. They lifted the granaries above the ground thereby protecting the stored grain from vermin and water

The base stones taper towards the top with an overlapping cap stone placed above, making it almost impossible for a rodent to climb up and into the hay or grain stored above. The air could freely circulate beneath the stored crops and this helped to keep it dry (Wikipedia)
