Sharks are a beautiful part of nature. While unsympathetic to the anthropmorphic human mind, they are a vital part of ocean ecosystems. I am going to post a disturbung story that involves sharks and tragedy at sea. I just want to make it clear it doesn't change my admiration for these amazing creatures.

This is one of a large series of animal planters created by PY. Earlier pieces, all I have seen bear the green wreath mark and "Hand Painted, Made in Japan", meaning they were distributed exclusively by Woolworth's; I have seen several over the years with Woolworth's stickers still attached. Much rarer than the similar looking PY vegetable planters, all the pieces in this series are very hard to find, and I have no idea how many different ones were made. All represent a full-bodied character and a planter or cache area behind it. Besides Ms. Bee here, I own a rooster, hen, dog, elf and ostrich. I have also seen a pig, hippo, rabbit, little boy and alligator (most I have only seen once), and I am sure there are many others.
All are very detailed. I like how her chest area looks "fuzzy" like a real bee, and how the sides of the planter are vaguely shaped like a hive :)

Few things are more exciting to me than finding a piece I have never seen before. This piece looks like the apple sugar bowl, but is a strawberry! He has seeds and a different finial on his lid.
I was lucky enough to acquire this sugar bowl a while back, but the lid was broken in four pieces. Off to the ceramic restorer he went, and now looks as good as new!
I now own the sugar and saw a creamer many years ago; that means there must be a teapot, right? Like a number of other rare PY sets, I theorize that these were produced later, probably near the time PY abruptly ceased operations in 1961, and thus were made on a much smaller scale.
There is a more common strawberry planter and salt and pepper shakers, but they have a different shape than this strawberry set (they also have black seeds), making me think they were produced separately.

This is one of a number of attached cruets by PY that I have seen in the apple, pear (both crying and happy versions), lemon, chef and cabbage rose (all three colors) patterns. Individual larger sets were made in the apple, pear and lemon patterns. This pair stands about 6" high and is marked PY with a Coronet sticker.
I happen to own a pear attached cruet that has one pear crying! It is the only one I have ever seen and is also on my photostream. Collecting PY is fun for this reason - you never know what will pop up next!
The girl cruet makes me laugh because she looks rather uninterested, don't you think?

He's my little Po "Po Botanical Blossom Faerie Exclusive LE GID" (Pale Pink skin/blue hat & wings). His size's 4cm/40mm. I''m waiting my sister make clothes for him (i hope soon...) He's so tiny and cute! I love him!

I tried a bunch of times to get a good picture of this wall pocket and kept getting glare. This is the best of the bunch!
I think this is a Dahlia or a Zinnia. He or she (I'm not sure!) is marked PY and stands 7" tall.
