Pattern: Emboirdered Anklets from Knitting Lingerie Style

Needles: Knitpicks DPNs (will check the size and edit it in later.. maybe)

yarn: Cascade Fixation; just shy of one ball.

Mods: Used only one ball of yarn instead of four. The pattern is for thigh-highs and these are just anklets. Also no embroidery on them.

I loved the thigh-high pattern in the book, but wasn't sure if I'd enjoy wearing socks made of Fixation. I had a ball of the stuff in my stash, so I decided to make little anklets and see what I thought before investing that much time and money into something I wouldn't necessarily wear.

If I knit them again I might do a different short row heel and toe; this one has a row of little holes on either side that I don't know I like.

This gorgeous anklet was made by the fabulous Des, and if you'd like to own something similar (or buy me something!!) you can buy her beautiful handcrafted jewelry here: www.etsy.com/shop/desjewelry

sterling, copper, gold plated beads with sterling clasp ($15)

Virginia Beach, Virginia - June 2011

One of my favorite pieces of jewelry--I love how the bells gently jingle with each step.

This necklace/anklet reminds me of jewels shining in the dark of a Dwarven cave, so I named it after one of my favorite Dwarves in "The Hobbit". Some of us Woodland Elves actually think Dwarves are pretty neat, and didn't approve of the Elvenking's choice to imprison them. ;)

This necklace is crocheted from black hemp cord, strung with shiny dark plastic beads. The entire necklace is about 37" (94 cm) long (including extra cord to tie with where it isn't crocheted), but the crocheted, thicker part is about 21" (53.3 cm). You tie the necklace in the back, so it can fit any size neck, and can be worn tighter or looser (personally I usually wear this style as a choker).

It can also be worn as an anklet!
