While getting ready for Android 2.3 and according to the snow here in Fulda / Germany, 2 members of my mobile device working group at the campus of the University of Applied Sciences asked me for building a snow Android and I agreed! Now the snow Android stands in the center of the campus.
May it be possible to get 1 to 3 Nexus S' as your support to developers who are really addicted to Android?
[There are plenty of photos to proof the progress!]

Having a little fun, I decided to make a CAD model out of the Android mascot. Here, I'm playing with the Depth of Field option in my renderer (that is, portions being in/out of focus based on their actual depth, as opposed to faking the effect in Photoshop with a blur filter and gradient mask). I wanted to try to bring a bit of a photographic eye to parametric modeling and rendering, and I'm pleased with the results.
An android stands motionless in a research chamber where the natural and artificial worlds collide beneath the waves. In her domain of circuits and glass, she has placed elements from the human world – fruits symbolising both the fragility and transience of life. Her gaze holds an unspoken yearning, a quest to comprehend the mortal, the ephemeral, something she herself may never truly experience. Outside, the creatures of the sea swim, oblivious to her studies, while an old painting behind her reflects humanity’s own contemplation of mortality. The scene mirrors the android’s inner struggle – a longing to understand what it means to be part of the natural, mortal life she observes but can never entirely belong to.
I glass and wire, she stands alone,
A mind of circuits, yet seeds are sown.
She reaches for what she cannot feel,
A life beyond, elusive, real.
Through painted flesh, through fruit so bright,
She tastes in shadow, death and light.
A soul of code, a heart unbound,
Yet ever seeks what can't be found.
This is a shot from a little collectable I got at the MWC, conviniently used for the "plastic" assignment for the photo club at work.
