THEME: Wildlife Wonders
Beavers build their homes (lodges) on lakes, rivers, creeks and streams.
Beavers use their teeth to cut down trees and branches around the area and drag them to their building location. They chew on the wood to break it into smaller pieces and start making piles. Then they use their hands to squish mud between the logs.
Up to nine beavers will live in the same lodge. Beavers use their homes as a place to rest, raise their young and for protection against predators.

I was browsing through an art book and found this photo of Henri Matisse tending to his collection of exotic birds which he purchased from Paris merchants who were selling caged birds along the Seine. Reportedly starting in the summer of 1936, his love for birds remained throughout his life and surely the doves and songbirds he so enjoyed influenced his later cut-out creations.
"Night Terrors" an analog collage inspired by a visit to Studio Z, the gallery & workspace of Frank J. Zirbel, 3034 North Milwaukee Avenue.
Frank J. Zirbel is a musician, composer, filmmaker, and self-taught artist. He graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.A. in philosophy in 1970, became the bass player for the Chicago new wave band Bohemia in 1979, and has since had artwork featured in more than 70 group and one-man shows. Frank’s art uses representational imagery within stylistic modes of figurative expressionism and classical surrealism. He lives in Avondale, Chicago.

Ce billet d'admission au cinéma Rialto appartenait à mon père. Un souvenir important pour lui qu'il a conservé toute sa vie.
Over the last 40+ years we have through various advancements in technology we have become adsorbed with access to media or information that truly is inappropriate or not needed! This constant bombardment is really affecting all of us!

I carefully cut "The Curious Little Girl (1860-64) out of the painting by Camille Corot (1796-1875) and placed her in a landscape of greenery and added three pieces from a book I love to use from time to time entitled SWATCHES (images of fabric patterns).

J’ai fait une deuxième version avec cette idée. C’est celle que je préfère à cause du «French-Canadian Pea Soup» que j’y ait ajouter et qui, curieusement, figure sur l’étiquette de la boîte de soupe.
À l’époque où mon père était tout jeune, les Anglophones du Québec insultaient les Canadiens Français avec ce «Pea soup».
À l’origine, cette appellation vient probablement du fait que les Anglophones du Québec étaient surpris que les Canadiens Français travaillent si fort en s’alimentant principalement de soupe au pois. Mais cela s’est vite modifier en insulte, les traitant ainsi de peureux, de «Pissou».
En retour, les Francophones traitaient les Anglophones de «Chicken» («Chicken shit») qui se traduit par «poule mouillée, peureux, poltron».
Mais cette nuit-là lorsque mon père, Alzheimer, écrivit sur un tout petit bout de papier «On peut manger de la soupe Habitant n’importe quand», il avait peut-être tout simplement une envie de réconfort alimentaire.
