The westbound North Coast Hiawatha has reached the summit of the Continental Divide.
A tunnel to the left (north) was by-passed with this sizeable cut.

Train #10 North Coast Hiawatha got a bit of extra help for failing F units.
Only a couple of miles from a station stop and a power change.

Cab car AMT 900 (donated to Exporail earlier this year) sits beside Hays Station. It will be used as part of Exporail's Christmas train the next two weekends.
Ex-Amtrak AMT 301 leads a westbound train that is stopped at Montreal West Station in 2010, with leased GP40FH-2 NJT 4140 at the other end. At this point many trains through here had power at each end, but at present cab cars always lead west. AMT got rid of F40's a couple of years after this photo was taken.
For me, a real treat. A former Milwaukee Road Super Dome being used on this days Empire Builder.

AMT 400 leads a train consisting of six multievel cars towards Montreal West station during the evening rush hour in 2011
AMT 926 (the last Vickers gallery car), AMT 2023 & AMT 111 are on what's left of the St-Luc roundhouse in 2007. Only 2023 remains active today.
The branding shift for Montreal's commuter trains is illustrated by the side by side comparison of AMT 1340 and AMT 1344 at the Pointe-Saint-Charles Maintenance Centre, with the former branded 'exo' on the nose and the latter branded 'AMT'. 'AMT' is still the proper reporting mark for both units. Both of these F59PH's are on trainsets for the Mascouche line and will depart for Central Station and the afternoon rush hour a bit later on.
AMT 1346 pushes a consist from the Mascouche line towards the Maintenance Centre, where it will lay over until the afternoon rush hour. In the past consists like this would have layed over closer to Central Station on the St-Hyacinthe Sub, but construction on the REM light rail project has made that no longer possible. In the background are stored MR-90 cars.
AMT 1352 pushes a deadhead move towards Central Station a bit before the afternoon rush hour. Work continues to progress on the REM light rail project (which will parallel the tracks here), with what might be a pillar going up in the Lachine Canal, which will certainly affect this angle.
On a cold late autumn evening, the local commuter train switches onto the mainline towards Montreal at Dorion.
AMT 1326 pushes a deadhead move past Lasalle Yard during the morning rush hour. It still sports an AMT logo on the long hood; most units have had them removed as rebranding with the Allo Exo name continues.
It's officially spring, but there's still a bit ice on the St. Lawrence River and it's -10 Celsius (14 Fahrenheit) as AMT 76 makes its way towards the island of Montreal during the morning rush hour.
