Thought I'd share a pic of my new baby which I've been slaving over for the last few evenings. It's a valve amp based on the "Firefly" design at the great guitar geek gurus site www.ax84.com.
For those who give a damn, this tiny thing produces a whopping 0.5 watts of class A push-pull power from its ECC82 pre-amp valve output stage. Two ECC83's sit up front with a switchable cascode boost stage for some pretty monster sounding distortion.
Why only 0.5 watts? That way one can achieve full on power tube distortion at "household" levels. Thats the theory. In practice, half a watt is still waaaay too loud!!
