Abandoned diner in Huntington by John Holderried

We've got three more planned stops at various Long Island flea markets and craft fairs, but after the first stop we passed an IHOP, so we stopped to refuel. Across the street from the IHOP was an abandoned diner, and my first thought was, "Let's open our own diner! We can call it the Municipal House of Pancakes and give IHOP a run for their money!" Which is a terrible idea because I have no restaurant-managing experience, or money to buy a diner and have it refurbished.

But as is, it's nearly perfect if you wanted to open up a theme diner for the two months before Halloween (if that were legal and a good idea, which it is NOT.). That's the thing, though, I'm an ideas guy, and I have lots of ideas for restaurants that I'm never going to open.

Finally I put two and two together and came up with: "Haunted House of Pancakes"! Only to find that IHOP already thought of this idea, and last year used that same idea to sell Scary-face Pancakes for kids and pumpkin-flavored pancakes for the adults.

They're missing out, I think - people need the whole spooky haunted diner experience... The lunch special could be Ghoul-ash and for dinner there's Fettucini Afraid-O, ghost pepper chili and pumpkin ravioli. Dead velvet cake, ice scream and Fear-amisu for dessert? Who's with me?
