Bought this Amazon from Tony Barrett (The Old Volvo Guy) when he was at South Service.

This car was a import from South Africa and was in for a service before trying to sell it. I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time...

Here is a picture of the HMS Amazon. I had a chance to board this ship in the late 80's. I got a personal tour of the vessel by a couple friends (who were serving on the Amazon at the time) of my father.

The HMS Amazon -- the first type-21 class frigate of the Royal Navy -- was originally deployed from Woolston Yard, Southampton, on April 26, 1971.

After a 22 year run, the HMS Amazon was decommissioned and sold to the Pakistani government on September 30, 1993 and redeployed as the PNS Babur (which is still in service today.)

The HMS Amazon has a length of 117m, a beam of 12.7m, and a draught of 5.9m. With a full load, the Amazon displaces 3600 tons of water. She has a max-speed of 32 knots and can travel 4000 nautical miles at 17 knots or 1200 nautical miles at 30 knots. The HMS Amazon complements a crew of 192.

The HMS Amazon also has a deck and hangar (in the very rear of the ship) for 1 light helicopter (click here for a good photo showing the stern of the Amazon.)

Scanned in from a 5"x4" negative. I'm hoping to get it re-scanned professionally as I do not have the capabilities to properly scan in a negative of this size.

This morning we headed over to the local trailer park. Now when I say trailer park I mean it in the loosest possible way. Yes, they are in fact trailers, but they aren't like any trailers I've ever seen. They are the fanciest and ritziest double wides ever.

Anyway, the owner of the trailer park has been collecting birds for years. It has gotten to the point where it has become a local attraction and they give a "show" every morning. A lot of the birds that they have now have been donated by those who can't care for them. They have everything from a swan from Australia to ducks from all over to parrots and cockatoos.

It was cool to see, as I'm a bit parrot lover, with my favorite being the cockatoo. You are able to interact with the birds and the lady that runs the "show" is really cool and well informed.

My pal Andy's Amazon Tree Boa, she's nasty I so nearly got bitten trying to get her pic! Unfortunately she's a nameless wonder as Andy is one of those strange people who don't beleive in naming reptiles??? I can't understand it! But isn't she pretty?
