I ordered the bar-b-cute and the happy campers collage sheets from WildOlive yesterday.
They are perfect for making sign language vocabulary cards. Wahoo!
(Two of my daughters are hearing impaired so our family is always striving to add more sign vocabulary.)
I have plans to make a great game for tomorrow night's game time.

Another bathroom mirror self-portrait... taken not long after
the first one (previous photo). And another design project made
out of it!
It's an interesting thing to me as I look back to those very first
days of using the D200. I approached every shot... with the
mindset of a designer. Slowly but surely over these last 4 years,
experience has been teaching me to also take on the mindset
of a photographer. And while there are areas of overlap...
each is also unique, and I've found both to be extremely valuable!
The good experiences... the not-so-good experiences... the
frustrations... the 'Duh!' moments... the happy accidents...
the blahs... and the breakthroughs... all of it cumulatively has
taken me to the point where I am at today. And that journey
continues!
And these days, Photoshop (to whatever degree) is more a choice
I make, rather than the absolute necessity it used to be. I guess
that's progress... right? =)

Estudo que fiz usando como referência uma pintura do Frank McCarthy. Óleo sobre papel, tamanho A3. A idéia era focar mais na composição, cores, valores tonais e luz, trabalhando com massas. Algumas coisas saíram da proporção/tamanho, mas gostei do resultado.
A poet said - I think it might have been T S Eliot - that 'most news will be wrapping chips tomorrow'. Health & Safety now forbids that, so what's left? Recycling of course but even so... this is not advice to avoid the world and its rumbunctious commercialised chat. More a self-reminder to keep learning. Why I so like Goya's little self-portrait. Congratulations to my wonderful friend and student, Erin, on accomplishing a year of wonderful photographic challenges. Erin came to me in the beginning of 2022 asking to embrace photography. This led to an amazing year of adventures, lessons, laughter, a few tears along the way, and hundreds of amazing images! We spent a lovely celebratory day at Buchart Gardens yesterday - never say never - photographing flowers, gardens, people, dogs, hidden treasures and each other. It was yet another fun day together and I can hardly wait for more. Let’s go!!

Right. So I couldn't sleep last night, despite being desperately tired. It happens once a while. Too often in fact. I decided to get out. Got my photo stash, my primus etc. Lunched near a scenic lake. Only brought the 50mm and the 100mm macro. Goal: no landscapes, only bokeh photos today.
