The very talented singer/songwriter Jake Walters founded the band "Creating The Scene". This was shot at a recent concert at " Club XS" using a decades old film era lens on a digital camera. Check him out on "Funk Me" with "CTS " www.youtube.com/watch?v=NR_HM1QpWJI And an acoustic song "Runaway" joined by part of CTS... my grandsons Nic and Jace.

That's his name, so it is. He's the frontman of one of the best bands around, Hybrasil.
They have revolutionised their set after losing a member i.e. the old set is gone! In it's place is an angular funktastic sound that had some of the audience trying to dislocate every bone in their body.
So do yourself a favour and try and catch them live if you get the chance.
This is them performing at Revolver presents at Radio City, Store St, Dublin 1, 26 April '08.

Great group of guys. Totally not what I expected from a superstar rock band. Very down to earth. Honestly, the guys you'd expect to meet at a mall, serve you dinner in restaurant, etc.
Congrats on the success, guys!

Last week, I attended a music gig featuring my mate Jason's band 'The Shaken' - an alternative rock band from the Midlands. I was asked to bring my camera along and get some pictures of their performance. To say I was out of my comfort zone was a bit of an understatement: being fairly new to photography as a whole and not really knowing what justifies as a "good picture" when it comes to live music. These three are my favourites out of the final 17 shots that I was happy to send to the band for their use.
For more information on the band, here's a link to their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/TheShakenUK/

What people do on Friday.
The best three shots each week, shot from the HIP, on a Friday.
Inspired by John Brack’s “Collins St., 5pm” - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collins_St.,_5_pm the rules are simple;
•Do not use the view finder or LCD screen when taking aim; ‘shoot from the hip’
•Do not review, delete etc. until home.
•Only post photos taken on a Friday.
Though not a rule, unofficially this is a project about/featuring people; perhaps occasionally an animal. It is after all about the day, Friday and our relationship with the end of the (western), working week.
