Un étrange alphabet

I did this alphabet series as a photography project - trying to find letters in everyday shapes and objects that are not letters. As I did loads of sliding to get it as a mosaic hope it fits the bill for Sliders Sunday! HSS

Crazy Tuesday theme: a bowl full of crazyiness

In my bowl I have alphabet characters from A to Z. I shot this in the bright western sunlight just for something different.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments and favs. All are greatly appreciated. HCT

For February Alphabet Fun Month 2026

Not only Dramatic but also Dear. This was a rather extravagant photo shoot!

Yes, a theme seems to have presented itself. So I will try to stick to veggies and fruit. So far so good. The difficult letters are yet to come!

My generations's meme train wiggles north along a whole slew of fallen flag trackage. NRFF is a modern day beneficiary of how well the Reading has done in my lifetime. This train originates down in North Reading and delivers cars to the far north end of operations at Pittston Yard. There was never a direct route to go between Tamaqua and Pittston, until a couple years back. As you approach the CNJ overpass of the Lehigh Valley RR, the modern Reading was able to build a connection across the Lehigh River.

This spot is not far from the new connection on the old LV Route north towards Sayre, PA.

Cherokee Alphabet daze and confuse everyone! First, the Cherokee alphabet is technically not an alphabet at all, but a syllabary. That means each Cherokee symbol represents a syllable, not just a consonant or a vowel. More at: www.native-languages.org/cherokee_alphabet.htm

For my February Alphabet Fun Month group, I am adding an extra photo for the letter Y. Just because they’re yellow and beautiful and I needed some flowers. :-)

I bought myself some flowers. It’s been a colder than normal winter for central Indiana, with more snow and ice than usual. And I have seasonal effective disorder. There are no signs of spring outside. I needed flowers. The days are getting longer, and spring will be here soon. And I am starting to feel human again.

I love baking and consider it a leisure activity rather than a necessity. Today's chocolate tray bake is a firm favourite of my grandchildren.

Metal type blocks (10pt) "All in a row"

HMM!

I didn't have time to take this photo until this evening! So it was a little rushed.

Here is a yardstick, extremely foreshortened, because of the angle.

You could call this shot "Fun with Focus Stacking" because it took 280 shots to get it all in focus. Unfortunately, the lighting was wrong, but I had no time to do it over.

This is a well used metal yardstick I bought years ago, so I could cut straight lines in foam board etc without hurting a wooden yardstick. It has been WELL used, as you can see from the scratches.

I'm not going to have time to comment on all your excellent Y images, so sorry! I'll make sure I am here for Z!

Thank you for all you wonderful comments and friendship this past month.

Shot(s) taken and contrived for Saturday Self Challenge 16/04/2022 -- Something which resembles a letter of the alphabet

Well off I go out to look and capture anything that looked like a letter from the alphabet . Great I found quite a few different letter shots , and not to waste them I have used them all except one for the "W" .

Loading an anagram app I found I had the above , I do not know if it meant anything - could it be self expression , realisation , or just the work of a chaotic mind ??

Just to run through the letters ------------

I The top of a scaffolding pole .

A The " Alpha " Bug Hotel .

M The top of some trellis fencing in my garden .

C The Spout of the kitchen sink tap , cropped and rotated .

H A rooftop aerial .

A The " Alpha " Bug Hotel .

O A nearby lifebuoy by a hollow that only ever fills with

water once in about 4 or 5 years .

S A section of a wrought iron fence .

And a sight & sound that is not in any better a place ----

There is Late Breakiing News today at We’re Here!

X is for XENOPHOBIA at February’s Alphabet Fun:2017 Edition. Let’s pray for a cure.

With apologies to Dr. Axe - I borrowed a picture of his article. I'll put it back when we're finished here. ;-)

Gee, I started this alphabet month out so well, taking each photo the day before. Then life caught up with me and laughed at my attempt at orderliness.

Now I am scrambling to get the photo done, and I'm only uploading it to the group in the middle of the night (or early morning of the next day)!

So, here is T for Topaz. These are my favorite pieces. I don't own many, since I don't really go anywhere requiring decoration very often. But of what I have, these, a gift from my husband many years ago, are my favorites. I love the glowing blue of the blue topaz, and I tried to capture that glow for this "T" day of February Alphabet Fun Month.

I'm really sorry I don't have time to go look at all your entries, tonight. I'll try to do that tomorrow.... in between figuring out what starts with "U".....
