This is a re-edit of one of my favorite osprey images taken in 2016. Last year was a bust for the osprey-Kokanee due to a change in fish stocking 2 years previous. Hope this year doesn't disappoint.

Taken a few weeks ago during a fishing trip to the Everglades (previously posted a different shot from the same day). The sort of high-key effect is due to the harsh light conditions.

C'est le premier chalet construit en 1863, commandé par Napoléon III. Cependant il n'y habita presque pas car il le trouvait trop bruyant (les balcons donnaient sur la rue ) Un autre fut construit pour lui, le chalet de l'empereur. Il en existe encore deux sur le même modèle...
Dans les gorges de l'Allier, au coeur de l'été, je guettais le passage d'un cincle plongeur quand ce héron débarqua par surprise. En s'avançant au soleil, l'oiseau m'offrit une lumière de rêve pour lui tirer le portrait serré. C'est alors qu'une libellule s'est jointe au tableau des splendeurs ; comme le héron s'était immobilisé pour pêcher, l'insecte a vu dans l'immense échassier immobile un perchoir idéal pour se mettre à l'affût et chasser des insectes !
J'ai choisi cette photo pour illustrer le mois d'août de mon calendrier "OEILSAUVAGE 2025".
Je reprends quelques photographies réalisées au printemps sur les bords de la rivière Allier.
Où l'on peut rencontrer des aigrettes , des hérons ou le martin-pêcheur.
