Up close and personal - This 8-10' gator was only about 6' off the path in the wildlife refuge. I paused and made sure I didn't disturb it.
Great Egret
You probably can tell that this is one of my favorite subjects. I'll put some of my other postings of great egrets in flight in the comments.
This is another one from the vault. This is from a Florida trip a few years back in the Everglades National Park. I was actually setting up the camera to shoot this location not even knowing the alligator was there. Once I saw him there was no time for a tripod, he was swimming right into my frame. So this is a quick handheld image.
We had to get off the beaten path to find one of these guys in nature, but we ended up finally finding several. We kept our distance to respect their habitat, oh, and because they have those massive teeth. There is always that.
Catfish supper. Watched as this Gator caught and then made his way to the lake side before devouring his catch
No otters, no raptors, no kinger close ups. Had three hours at Canada Farm hide yesterday morning, no wind, not much sunshine but lovely and peaceful, miles away from motorways and other traffic - almost paradise.

I thought this was very whimsical folks, he just slipped out of the water very quietly and came to rest on this rock.
Big Cypress National Preserve, Florida, USA, Loop Rd, If you have some extra time at hand when cruising the TaMiami Trail from east to west or vice versa, then take the gravel road detour through the swamp and you will have the chance to see wonderful wildlife.
