A completely electric old Beetle? This is now possible thanks to a special kit sold at an affordable price and easy to install yourself. This is compatible with all models produced between 1960 and 1970.
Who doesn't know the Beetle, frankly? Colossal success of Volkswagen, with more than 21 million copies sold worldwide between 1938 and 2003, the "Cox" is a powerful cultural and industrial symbol. Now, the Chinese site Alibaba offers for purchase a DIY conversion kit for the car to run it with an electric motor. All for $2000.
As written above, the kit is not compatible with all models and can only be adapted to those of the 60-70 decade. What exactly does this kit include? A small electrical block that develops… 15 kW of power at most. That's a little more than 20 horsepower. When you know that the cars of the time were equipped with 4 cylinders for around 40 horsepower, it is difficult to imagine the performance of the Beetle divided by 2.
At first glance, this kit looks rather attractive. An electric retrofit is often extremely expensive for homeowners, and purchasing one may be a viable alternative for some. It will still be necessary to be a little handyman and connoisseur so that the car can be fully driven.
Caution should still be exercised when purchasing components from unofficial, non-manufacturer approved suppliers 🤔
Ein herbstliches Morgen-Sonnenbad tut Alibaba gut.
Endlich nimmt bald alles wieder seinen normalen Lauf.
An autumnal morning sunbath is good for Alibaba.
Soon everything is back to normal. There is still a lot to tidy up and clean up, but the worst is already done. Slowly some relaxation comes into the everyday life and we will have daily a few more for the beautiful things in life. In any case, this includes to make you happy with photos and to answer your dear comments bit by bit. I am very much looking forward to you.

In winter I meet my cats at night in the kitchen in the dog bed. They love sleeping together when it's around zero degrees Celsius outside.
Usually I go crawling, but this time I made an exception and photographed it for you. As you can see with little enthusiasm .. lol*************

"Ofo, the Alibaba-backed bike-sharing service, has “immense” cash flow problems and has considered applying for bankruptcy, according to the company’s founder. Dockless bike-sharing companies, including Ofo and its main rival Mobike, have rolled out more than 20m bikes in the past two years in China and abroad. With its yellow dockless bikes, Ofo — which has raised more than $2.2bn since it was founded in 2014 — exemplified the Chinese start-up model of growing quickly by raising money and burning through cash. Earlier this year, an industry insider estimated that rival Mobike spent $50m a month, while Ofo burnt through roughly $25m.
But cash flow problems for the company have become acute, Ofo founder Dai Wei wrote in a letter to employees on Wednesday. “I’ve thought countless times . . . of even dissolving the company and applying for bankruptcy,” he said. “For the whole of this year we’ve borne immense cash flow pressure. Returning deposits to users, paying debts to suppliers, in order to keep the company running we have to turn every renminbi into three.” Millions of Chinese Ofo users have applied for refunds on their Rmb99 ($14) deposits, which the company is trying to process online.
On Wednesday, when a Financial Times reporter applied for a refund, more than 10m users were already in the virtual queue. Mr Dai attributed the company’s financial position to “not being able to correctly assess the changing external environment from the end of last year”. Bao Jun, an analyst at market research firm iResearch, said: “The whole bike-sharing industry has weakened. Across the economy, investors are more cautious.” Mobike was bought out by food delivery giant Meituan in April of this year at an enterprise value of roughly $3.7bn, while fellow bike-sharing rival Bluegogo was brought back from bankruptcy after it was acquired by ride-sharing company Didi Chuxing in January for an undisclosed amount. Didi was reportedly in talks to buy Ofo in August. But Ernan Cui of research firm Gavekal Dragonomics said it would now be difficult for Ofo to find a company to rescue it. Recommended Inside Business Tim Bradshaw Ofo’s blowout offers lesson to investors “Its shareholding structure is complex,” she said. “They have Alibaba and Didi as investors, and Didi is invested in by [Alibaba’s rival] Tencent . . . so nobody particularly supports them.”
In March of this year, Alibaba led a $866m fundraising round in Ofo, having led multiple previous investments in the company. Didi, which has also repeatedly ploughed money into Ofo, participated in a $700m fundraising round last year. Ofo is also under pressure from suppliers. In September, a bicycle manufacturer sued the start-up for $10m in unpaid bills. Previously, a bike-lock manufacturer had threatened to “freeze” the locks of 3m bicycles due to a dispute over alleged unpaid debts. Ofo later said the dispute had been resolved. Overseas, Ofo has cut back its operations in the UK by withdrawing from most locations and sacking large numbers of employees. Mobike is preparing to sell its European arm for $100m"
Meantime have fun in the sun and ride the very few remaining 'yellow peril' bikes while you can. 🚲😀🚲

Hangzhou (Chinese: 杭州, Hangzhounese pronunciation: [ɦɑ̃.tse], Standard Mandarin pronunciation: [xǎŋ.ʈʂóʊ]), also romanized as Hangchow, is the capital and most populous city of Zhejiang, China. It is located in the northwestern part of the province, sitting at the head of Hangzhou Bay, which separates Shanghai and Ningbo. Hangzhou grew to prominence as the southern terminus of the Grand Canal and has been one of China's most renowned and prosperous cities for much of the last millennium. It is a major economic and e-commerce hub within China, and the second biggest city in Yangtze Delta after Shanghai. Hangzhou is classified as a sub-provincial city and forms the core of the Hangzhou metropolitan area, the fourth-largest in China after Guangzhou-Shenzhen Pearl River agglomeration, Shanghai-Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou conurbation and Beijing. As of 2019, the Hangzhou metropolitan area was estimated to produce a gross metropolitan product (nominal) of 3.2 trillion yuan ($486.53 billion), making it larger than the economy of Nigeria (the largest in Africa). As of the 2020 Chinese census, it had a total population of 11,936,010 inhabitants. However, its metropolitan area, populated by 13.035 million people over an area of 8,107.9 km2 (3,130.5 sq mi), consists of all urban districts in Hangzhou and 3 urban districts of the city of Shaoxing.
Hangzhou has been repeatedly rated as the best commercial city in mainland China by Forbes and the Chinese city with the highest growth potential by the Economist Intelligence Unit, and it boasts the eighth largest GDP among cities in mainland China with a GDP of around 1.8 trillion RMB ($280 billion). Home to the headquarters of large global tech companies such as the Alibaba Group, Ant Group and NetEase, Hangzhou is known for attracting professionals and entrepreneurs who work in information technology. Since 2014, its rapid population growth has led to a steady increase in local housing prices. According to the 2020 Hurun Global Rich List, Hangzhou ranks 11th in the world and 6th in China (after Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou) in the number of resident billionaires.
Hangzhou is a major city for scientific research in the Asia-Pacific, ranking 19th globally by scientific outputs. It hosts several notable universities, including Zhejiang, Zhejiang University of Technology, Hangzhou Normal, Hangzhou Dianzi, Zhejiang A&F, Zhejiang Sci-Tech, Zhejiang Chinese Medical, Westlake, China Jiliang and Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics. In September 2015, Hangzhou was awarded the 2022 Asian Games. Its West Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage Site west of the city, is among its best-known attractions.[7] A study conducted by PwC and China Development Research Foundation ranked Hangzhou first among "Chinese Cities of Opportunity". According to the Globalization and World Cities Research Network (GaWC), the city is classified as Beta (global second-tier) city, together with Chongqing, Nanjing and Tianjin in China. Hangzhou is also one of the world's top 100 financial centers, according to the Global Financial Centres Index. It will be the third Chinese city to host the Asian Games, after Beijing 1990 and Guangzhou 2010. Hangzhou also hosted the 11th G20 summit in 2016.
Yuan China was very open to foreign visitors, and several returned west describing Hangzhou—under the names Khinzai, Campsay, etc. - as one of the foremost cities in the world. The Venetian merchant Marco Polo supposedly visited Hangzhou in the late 13th century. In his book, he records that the city was "greater than any in the world" and that "the number and wealth of the merchants, and the amount of goods that passed through their hands, was so enormous that no man could form a just estimate thereof." Polo's account greatly exaggerates the city's size, although it has been argued that the "hundred miles" of walls would be plausible if Chinese miles were intended instead of Italian ones and that the "12,000 stone bridges" might have been a copyist error born from the city's 12 gates. In the 14th century, the Moroccan traveler Ibn Battuta arrived; his later account concurred that al-Khansā was "the biggest city I have ever seen on the face of the earth." He visited Hangzhou in 1345 and noted its charm and described how the city sat on a beautiful lake and was surrounded by gentle green hills. He was particularly impressed by the large number of well-crafted and well-painted Chinese wooden ships with colored sails and silk awnings in the canals. He attended a banquet held by Qurtai, the Yuan Mongol administrator of the city, who according to Ibn Battuta, was fond of the skills of local Chinese conjurers.
