It's hard not to believe that these aren't one of the most beautiful birds in the world when they are in breeding plumage. I feel very lucky not only to have them nest close to my home, but in a place where they are used to humans and nest fairly close. (Great Egret, Casmerodius albus)

Albus DumbleDog taking a very quick break from much mischief when he was about 8 weeks old, 2 days after we adopted him from a local rescue (he's 2.5 now---I should get some up-to-date photos of him!).

A molting immature White Ibis makes for a pretty picture, at times I think it would be nice if they stayed that way
Dictamnus albus (Rutaceae) 114 22
Dictamnus is a genus of flowering plants in the family Rutaceae, with a single species, Dictamnus albus, which has several geographical variants. It is also known as a burning bush, dittany,] gas plant, and fraxinella. It is a herbaceous perennial, native to warm, open woodland habitats in southern Europe, North Africa, and Asia.
This plant grows about 40 cm to 100 cm high. Its flowers form a loose pyramidal spike and vary in color from pale purple to white. The flowers are five-petalled with long projecting stamens. The leaves resemble those of an ash tree
The name "burning bush" derives from the volatile oils produced by the plant, which can catch fire readily in hot weather.
