Capture the flag.
My team was having problems on the defense, so I came as a backup , we cleaned the area, wich gave me time to take the shot (i think i shouldnt have done It, but i didn't die anyways).
Airsoft: Weapon: Echo 1 M16 DMR(M16A4) with a King Arms red crosshair ACOG, vertical foregrip, buttstock mag-pouch, and 5 mags. Loadout: MARPAT utlities(blouse and pants), MARPAT IBA, OD Green dump pouch/bag, OD Green thigh holster, OD Green deployment bag(on back of IBA), random black gloves, Coyote Brown Bijan knee pads, UnderArmour Coldgear black balaclava; ACH/MICH TC-2000 helmet with MARPAT helmet cover, tan "cateyes" band, nightvision mount, and G&P USMC OEF style goggles. I also have Coyote Brown Bijan elbow pads but I don't use them. I'm also putting together a US Army ACU loadout; right now I only have the ACU shirt and pants.
Started playing paintball in 1983. Back then it was genuine cow markers with test-tube cartridges containing ~8 paintballs loaded into a CO2 Bovine "Marker". Approximately half of the paintballs broke in the barrel and never made it to target. Paintballs that did make it out rarely ranged far enough due to low velocities. Averaged ~100 paintballs shot/day played.
Haven't played paintball regularly since 1988 when I discovered Airsoft while in Japan (been playing Airsoft regularly since then, i.e. 28 years).
Two advantages that pertain to me (amongst many others) of Airsoft over Paintball:
1) Hurts a *lot* less, perhaps why it's called AirSOFT.
2) Costs a *lot* less (players are allowed to use their own plastic bb's without having to buy from the field).
I continue to be passionate about the game even after so many years; why you see me out at SC Viper most weekends...
...picture of me and the boys before walking unto a field for the next game out at SC Village today...they both *love* the game (no idea as to why ;-)
So recently I took up Airsoft! I've only been a few times because I don't yet have the money to go on a regular basis, but I was able to get my UKARA License and buy an AEG that isn't mulit-coloured (UK laws are very strict when it comes to firearms and even RIFs).
It was pretty cheap for an AEG (£140) but it's a very popular one that's recommended for new players like myself.
See that 552 Holographic replica? Yeah, well I broke it on my first game using it. I was impatient and didn't wait for the protector to arrive from China. The front screen is smashed and there's nowhere that makes replacements. So now it's completely useless. Yay.
Now that I have a new and rather expensive hobby, I'm going to have to split my spending money between Airsoft and LEGO I'm afraid.
But fear not! I have a rather ambitious LEGO project in mind that I might start work on very soon ;)
Airsoft is an action sport in which the players simulate combat, warfare, or other military scenarios using authentic military tactics and replica weapons.
For an airsoft forum. Just a pic of some of the new stuff I bought.
Things on the way:
-Coyote Brown dumppouch
-Coyote Brown IBA vest cover
-Coyote Brown Camelbak
-Bates DuraShocks Boots
Now I know you're saying "Where are teh laygoes?" But, no worries, a MOC is on the way! I might end up making another Flickr account just for airsoft, so that this one will be for LEGO's only.
Time I posted something other than Legos. This is my airsoft armory. I plan to use them mostly for props in movies and skits.
Part of my drive to 'jazz up' some of my old photos taken with my old trustworthy Olympus.
One of my favourite pictures of Ben. Taken at Ground Zero Sopley (Airsoft) I tried to mess with it months ago with reasonable effect but this one turned out more to my liking.
Pseudo HDRI to bring out the clouds and create a more 'illustrated drawing' effect and a dash of curves tweaking for fun.
This is the airsoft given to me by John B. Putala and Ryan T. Gamble for my Birthday.
Note how dangerous it would be for me to wave this around by the police station on a dark night...
this is the smallest and weakest of my airsoft guns.
FPS=with.12-378 with .20-353 fps
ROF= per second-18 per minute-1080
range= 30-40 yards
grouping= at 30 yards 6 inches
magazine= 200 rnd auto mag
battery-very small. it sits inside the front rail of the gun. it still provides a very strong gun though.
scope= a x1 holographic sight with a red dot. not a cross hair like all you call of duty fans think every holo sight is like.
this guns costs 350+ dollars. its my cheapest gun but very reliable.
Photos' taken at a airsoft game on the 22nd of November 2008.
