Sam 28000 is the call sign for Air Force One when the President of the United States is not on board. Air Force One is a highly modified Boeing 747-200 carrying the military designation of Boeing VC-25. There are only two such aircraft. One carries the tail number and call sign Sam 28000 and the back-up Sam 29000.
