As Autumn approaches, just before rutting season when all you can see is hardened antlers, as above, a soft velvety layer covers male deer antlers. While the velvet covering is indeed beautiful, its purpose is much more functional and protective than it looks. Deer velvet is a contributing factor to antlers being the fastest growing tissue of any mammal.
It's purpose is not to weatherproof. The velvet contains a network of blood vessels and nerves and acts as a protective layer for the hardening antlers underneath. It allows the antlers to reach their full potential so that they can be used by the male during rutting season, to bash other antlers, so to speak...
When velvet shedding happens, it is the signal that the rut is beginning.
Like many red flowers, red chrysanthemums symbolize love and passion. If you're looking for blooms for an anniversary or Valentine's Day, take a break from roses and opt for red chrysanthemum flowers
My partner and I were walking Bobby in Grunewald Forest, a woods/park approx 20 minutes outside Berlin, it's a beautiful place and very well kept and besides the obviously synthetic footpaths it's a very natural spot. We came into this clearing and we spotted all these beetles, which I later after researching discovered were European Dor Beetles. They had this beautiful metallic colouration to them and trust me when I say, I barely touched the saturation here, this guy was practically glowing as the sunlight caught him, looking like something from a computer game. So a la Dor Beetle, gorgeous looking bugs.

I love simplicity, but thoughts are complicated, sometimes you need a complicated image to invoke your thoughts at that moment. The story behind this image is to reflect what an artist sees through another artist's work.
It is very hard not to capture other bystanders in a public display. I took many shots with my tripod and use Photoshop Stack to remove all the other point and shooters but this photographer. He just stood there for a long time and appeared on most of my frames. So I put him back on this image to reflect his admiration at that frozen moment.
Amer Palace (Hindi, also spelled and pronounced as Amber) is located in Amer, a town with an area of 4 square kilometres located 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) from Jaipur, Rajasthan state, India. Located high on a hill, it is the principal tourist attractions in the Jaipur area. The town of Amer was originally built by Meenas, and later it was ruled by Raja Man Singh.
Amer Fort is known for its artistic Hindu style elements. With its large ramparts and series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks Maota Lake. It is the main source of water for the Amer palace.
The aesthetic ambiance of the palace is seen within its walls. Constructed of red sandstone and marble, the attractive, opulent palace is laid out on four levels, each with a courtyard.

The variations in wood tone and texture are visible, adding to the aesthetic appeal.
The carving techniques create varying textures, from smooth, polished surfaces to rougher, more intricate details, adding depth and visual interest.

Aesthetic framing of fallen leaves on the ground of a sandy beach surrounded by stones, pebbles and seashells.
From a mere documentation of reality to a form of artistic expression, falling of a leaf can be an insignificant event when considered in the backdrop of huge changes taking place.. from the colossal explosion and merger of the heavenly objects in the skies to gigantic move of the tectonic plates beneath the earth. There are many more events above and beneath our Earth and the event of a leaf-fall for sure is minuscule. Dropping of a small or big leaf most of the time goes unnoticed.
Even towards those areas that are considered negligible, as is the case here.. Photography takes our consciousness from an inconsiderate situation to make it sensible. It echoes a deeper, more profound narrative.. these leaves whisper tales of transformation, impermanence, and the beauty of embracing change.

Land's End. Southern Outer Banks. A decade ago, much of this was all Atlantic Ocean. Proof, the Outer Banks of North Carolina is always changing.
I like the way the hoverfly matches the flower. Note the single grain of pollen on the right eye. I didn't do a whole lot to this. Exposure and contrast mostly. original is here.
