Adobe Engage 2008 event in San Francisco, 2008 Feb 25. Additional commentary: Engage 2008 and Why AIR
The first iteration of the typographic portrait for the "Denial" Race Card portrait.
I'm not a fan of this version at all but I think that it served as a great help in understanding how to use the typographic tools in Adobe Illustrator. I mainly used area type in this version and I used it to fill in the shapes created by the black and white image. I also used type on a path for the outline of his head/neck as well as well as touch type for the shape of his tie.
