Right around dusk, I saw a row of Great Egrets in a flooded wetland area on the side of the road. Because I have a fixed lens, I was not able to zoom out to show the beauty that I was beholding.

These Great Egrets were posing in this wetland and seemed to glow in the darkness as rush hour traffic inched by.

One by one, these Great Egrets lifted their wings to conclude the end of the day as they vanished in the brush to roost for the night.

The Great Egrets were very still until suddenly they all twitched as if they had received an invisible signal to relocate for the night.
This closing day had a magical and peaceful spectacle of Great Egrets just beyond a fence with dark waters flowing and their white figures were ghostly glowing at the approach of night.

This is from the first outing with my new camera. Rebel xsi. This is a mother and two chicks which are now as big as she is..She really has a job to keep the nest under control. I love the new camera !

At the conference we were treated to a motivational lecture “Curiosity changed my life” from Adam Steltzner who was the Chief Landing Phase Engineer and Development Manager for the landing of the Mars Rover, Curiosity. The obstacles were enormous yet the team overcame them to land the robotic rover. A good insight on how to lead and bring people together to a common goal. His first aim in life was to be a rock star!
