Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States from 1861 until his assassination in 1865. Lincoln led the nation through the American Civil War and succeeded in preserving the Union, so naturally, he was at the Civil War reenactment that I attended last weekend.
The fellow who played him, seen chatting here with an attendee, was one of several speakers at the event. He was incredibly knowledgable about the Civil War era, answering unscripted questions from the audience as Lincoln would have answered, while never missing a beat.
FROM WIKIPEDIA
Sculpted by Danish-American Gutzon Borglum and his son, Lincoln Borglum, Mount Rushmore features 60-foot-tall sculptures of the heads of four United States presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. The entire memorial covers two square miles.
Reenactors portraying Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, and his wife, Mary, were in attendance at the recent Civil War Days in Port Sanilac, Michigan. They took time here to pose for a photo during the event, which was set in the year 1861. The photographer had a tent on the grounds with a sign advertising Tintypes and Ambrotypes.
