We need not show our ID card to prove our identity unlike the poor Indian citizen who
has to acquire and show ID cards of all shapes and sizes like ration card, PAN card,
birth certificate, community certificate, electricity bill, telephone bill, passport, voter ID, bank pass book, gas connection receipt and now "Aadhar card" !!!

The Union Government has notified the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and other Subsidies, benefits and services) Act, 2016. The Act will provide statutory backing for transfer of subsidies and benefits to eligible people having Aadhaar (UID) number.

New Delhi: No paper admit card will be issued for this year’s civil services main examination, scheduled to begin from Friday, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has said.
The candidates will have to download their e-admit cards and take a printout thereof.
UPSC will be conducting the main examination at 23 centres from December 18 to 23. The civil services examination is conducted annually in three stages — preliminary, main and interview — to select officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
“The Commission has uploaded the e-admit cards on its website at www.upsc.gov.in. The candidates are advised to download their e-admit cards and take a printout thereof. The candidates will have to produce the printout of their e-admit cards at the allotted venue for appearing in the examination,” a press release issued by the UPSC said.
“No paper admit card will be issued for this examination by the Commission,” it said.
In case the photograph is not visible or available on the e-admit cards, candidates are advised to carry identical photograph for each session along with proof of identity such as valid identity card, Aadhar card, voter identity card, driving license, passport etc. to the venue of the examination.
About 15,000 candidates have qualified in this year’s civil services preliminary examination, results of which were declared on October 12.
As against a record number of 9,45,908 candidates who had applied for the exam, about 4.63 lakh wrote the test on August 23, which is about 49 per cent of the total applicants. www.sarkarimirror.com/no-paper-admit-card-for-upsc-civil-...

The members of the panchayat note several changes among the women of the Nat community. Several of them now have ration cards, national identity cards (Aadhar) and even job cards under India's largest rural pay-for-work scheme, the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Act (MGNREGA).

Aadhar is a twelve digit unique identification number issued in India. Aadhar is a very important number and given only once to the citizens of India. It is not an evidence of citizenship, but a very effective proof of identity and address to use different facilities like direct benefit transfer of government subsidies like ration, domestic gas, etc. or for opening a bank account, passport applications, or other daily needs everywhere in India.

Recently, a new feature of the Aadhar has been launched by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which has been named as Masked Aadhaar. The Aadhar card has 12 digits, but with the help of this masked Aadhaar, you can hide the initial 8 digits of the Aadhar. That is, in the “Masked Aadhaar”, you will see only 4 digits of the last, and on this Aadhar, it will look like a masked. In masked Aadhar, other information including your photograph and QR code will continue to be visible.
