A dessert banana. CN: [Malay - Pisang badak (Indonesia), Pisang kapal, Pisang morosebo (Indonesia), Pisang serendah], Dwarf Cavendish banana, Cavendish banana. A banana cultivar originally from Vietnam and China. The Cavendish banana is a triploid (AAA) cultivar of M. acuminata. It became the primary replacement for the Gros Michel banana in the 1950s after crops were decimated by the Panama disease.
