For anyone interested, the house shown in this photo is available for rent (as of June 2024) for the bargain price of $115,000 per month (according to Zillow).... Let me know how you enjoyed your stay there if you decide to rent it!

This home sits nearly in the center of downtown Adairsville and is unoccupied and crumbling in on itself, a definite eyesore. Zillow indicates the house was built in 1901 and that it last sold in 1994.

Former Narberth Methodist Episcopal Church, built 1929, converted to condos in 2016 according to Zillow.

A 2,200 sf 3 bedroom, 3 bath unit sold for $659,000 in 2021. Pictures show a very modern, open floor plan. Looks great!

I took this with my phone while photographing the oystercatcher. If you'd like to live here (I sure know I would), it's kind of a good news / bad news situation. The good news is that the property is available. The bad news is the asking price is $40 million. But then again, you don't have to pay it all at once. With 20% downpayment and a 6.5% loan, it's just $202,262/mo (excluding taxes and insurance) spread over thirty years. And on top of that, it has been listed for 163 days, so maybe they're willing to bargain:) The Butterfly House (1951), Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.

I couldn't resist the Zillow megapack from Addams, especially not at the discount price.

Iowa Interstate heritage unit 513 leads a 110 car train of mixed freight by the former Port Galena Inn in Peoria Heights, IL. No longer a B&B, but privately owned, this home sold for $104,000 in the summer of 2020. I bet most railfans, given the chance, would have paid much more than that based on the location along the Illinois River/Upper Peoria Lake. NS 219, having endured an hour+ of delays getting out of the St. Louis metroplex, finally stretches its legs out in the flat-ish-lands of southern Illinois. With the rear of the train still clearing Germantown, the head end is at MP45, looking at Bartelso. Perfect sun at this point in the morning, and one of my favorite shots of this move.

I'm checking Zillow to see if that house is for sale.

A place with a view, but somewhat short on amenities.

What is left of one of the many trees fading from existence on Armand and Horsepen Bayous. This grand old snag is prime real estate for the pelicans that visit the bayou during early fall and winter. Not certain if they spent the night on these old branches, but they were there when I arrived on the scene before the sun reached this section of the bayou. I wish I had taken more photos of this house while it was still in this condition. At the time, it was occupied by an elderly woman who obviously did not have the means, either financial or physical, to care for it. When she moved out, I had a chance to see the inside, and it was in a horrendous state. It was raining that day and water was cascading down the inside stairs like a waterfall. Only a few rooms looked relatively habitable. When it was purchased in 2015 for $110,000, the new owners painted it baby blue with yellow trim, which was not a good choice. They repaired the interior and exterior some and built a fence across the front, but the house needs someone with more of a vision and deeper pockets to help it realize its greater potential. It changed hands in October 2021 for a sum of $595,000! Zillow indicates it was built in 1900 and includes 3179 square feet.

Depressing loss yesterday after loosing a biddy war, a blind bidding war, on this perfect home.

So Sad that I totally took myself out of the real estate market. What could I do? By another place nearby so I could take drive by of the one that got away.
