Yesterday was a historic day when the first flying machine created by earthlings flew on another world. Yay! Miracle of miracles I develop my first roll of B&W film today and this is one of the images.
This is one of the most photographed views of the South Falls in Silver Falls State Park in Oregon.

The highlights in the upper half of the photo have an usual shimmer to them. This is likely due to the movement of the leaves over the exposure, which was about 8 and a half. minutes.

Here's a recent scan of a shot I took seven years ago. I never tried to preserve the negative but I like how it can change and have a life of it's own even after I've taken the shot.

After the initial mental exercise, it was just photography. The lighting remained about the same the whole afternoon and all I had to do was find a scene I liked, lay the camera on a rock, guess the angle of view, press the camera down with my left hand and open and close the shutter latch with my right.
