Rue de Ménilmontant remains a street to pass every now or then otherwise you will miss some great street art. June 2009:
Bilal Berreni, alias Zoo project died in July 2013. Born in the 20ème arrondissement in 1990 and murdered in Detroit in 2013.
The young French street artist came to Detroit, too. He was here twice, but exactly what he did here still isn’t clear. But the trip he made to the city last year was his last, anywhere.
The 23-year-old painter was found dead at the dilapidated Brewster project on Detroit’s east side. He had been shot in the face, and his body was left lying in the street.
Now his name is known, but his killing remains a mystery. Detroit police are seeking anyone in the local art community who knew Berreni or had contact with him. Meanwhile, his loved ones are planning a memorial service in Paris on Sunday.

Finally on the third day, it descent low & close enough for some decent shots. This specimen swung up and down, right & left on the 40ft tall tree, but occasionally it descends low enough for a few clicks. This shot is a bit tight since I don't have enough time even to step back 1 step as this happened in split seconds. Also known as Lar Gibbon.
Location: Perak, Peninsular Malaysia
Distribution: Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand. Historically extended from southwest China to Thailand and Burma south to the whole Malay Peninsula.
Conservation status: Endangered
Habitat: Lowland dipterocarp forest, hill dipterocarp forest, and upper dipterocarp forest, including primary lowland and submontane rainforest, mixed deciduous bamboo forest, and seasonal evergreen forest.
The fur coloring of the lar gibbon varies from black and dark-brown to light-brown, sandy colors. The hands and feet are white-colored, likewise a ring of white hair surrounds the black face. Both males and females can be all color variants, and the sexes also hardly differ in size.
