Frank Zappa is a great favourite of mine and the first album I ever purchased was "Overnight Sensation" brilliant!! Clowns on Velvet seemed perfect for the wild colours that are to be found in caves on the coast!! It was a big spring tide today so I had an hour or so to have fun down at Ogmore!! This was trying out my new wide angle lens with a long time exposure! I cropped it down as the rocks catching the light just burnt out!! I like the square format though!!

Zappa, University of Illinois, circa 1984.

“Interviewer: 'So Frank, you have long hair. Does that make you a woman?'

Frank Zappa: 'You have a wooden leg. Does that make you a table?”

Quote: Frank Zappa

Frank Zappa

I come from nowhere

And you should go there

Just try it for a while

The people from nowhere

Always smile

Their eyes are all frozen over

The sides of their faces pooch out at the corners

Because that's what happens when their mouths turn up

On both sides

Which is why we can tell they're smiling

They never frown

They never let their eyebrows turn down

They like going around with their teeth showing

All the time

They are from nowhere

Your teeth are showing

So maybe you been there

You could have the disease of nowhere people

Where the air gets stuck all over their gums

When their nowhere lips roll back

For real excitement

They stand still

They shut up

Then they don't do nothing

I got this flyer in the 1980's from the boss of Moxy Records, who had a stack of them! I don't know if it's original, or a repro?

There's one of these (framed) on the wall of Frank Zappas' studio, in Los Angeles.

She was my 'secret' dolly, thankyou lovely Amanda for letting me adopt her and Gina for sprucing her up! You two are complete dolls <3

Love this dress set too Melissa, thankyou! It is of course for Curiousity but she wanted Zappa to have the honors, I dont think she approves though? I think its much too sweet for this little rebel ;)

Among other things is Bad Doberan well known for its annual "Zappanale" festival which is dedicated to the spirit and music of Frank Zappa. You even may stumble across this bust of Zappa which has been created by an Chech artist.

Frank Zappa (& The Mothers Of Invention), September 1973, Musikhalle Hamburg

From a few years ago now but that is a vintage Oath burner

Heard on the radio that today was Frank Zappa's birthday. That sent me skidding, sliding and scanning back to 1972(?) to a concert that I attended & somehow managed to take some bad, grainy photos of at the time.

Not the shot I originally intended. But the moment I saw the picture in LR I immediately thought of 'The He-Man Woman Haters Club' from Little Rascals. SO Here are my little camera haters.

They would also like to add that "that black box sucks eggs"... Unruly little furballs

Zappa Garcia concert, 1984, Chicago.

Nov 23, 1974, at Michigan State University

I had this vision in my head that came to me late on Friday night - this is isn't it. I was listening to a Phish song and said to myself "Self this is the perfect answer to the group challenge" Sadly I didn't have time to do it, so I'm not telling you what its is just yet as I plan to use it later on in the project... I was hoping this would be a bit more "Snoopy- Red Baron-esque" But it was freezing cold and windy. But I do love the end result. I wanted the rust red of the metal tunnel to really pop so I desaturated my scarf as it is red and purple flannel. She didn't feel the need to read the newspaper at her feet apparently.
