Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus died that death for YOU and I. The good news is there no more punishment for sin left, we were and are all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. The Hücker Moor is a nice little lake in the Herford area (Northwest Germany). Peat was cut here more than a century ago and created this lovely landscape. Today the place is a great location for wildlife and worth a trip for the local folks in all seasons.

Box of Chocolates, Part 3. Wide Field Astrophotography is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’ll get. The same photo on different nights can look very different. That’s one of the things I love about night photography. Here are 2 panoramas of The Mittens in Monument Valley, Utah, from roughly the same spot on different nights. There is wonderful green and red airglow on the left in the bottom photo, absent in the upper photo. I am continuing on my panorama binge, but this gives me a chance for a “two’fer”, 2 panos for the price of one (and they fit better on IG to boot). Top pano done with a 24 mm lens vertically, second photo done with a 35 mm lens vertically, each approximately 12-13 images combined in Lightroom. This lies within the Navajo Tribal Park and you need a guide to go there at night. If you are interested contact Majestic Monument Valley Tours and ask for Quanah. Hope you enjoy! Wayne
If you double-clock on this photos, you'll locate (red-roofed) Nishiho Hut down the ridge line toward its bottom right. From it, takes 30-60min to reach Doppyo Peak (where I'm taking this photo from), depending on how fast/slow you walk.
See what look like camel's humps on the farthest back left? They are the beautiful peaks of Mt Norikuras, another well-known autumn foliage spot (together with Kamikochi, which you see on the bottom basin on the left). Norikura is great for onsen soak and skiing as well.
Now, photo time's over, gotta kick my arrse for the next leg, Pyramid Peak.

Ginkgos are more spectacular when they have leaves, but I still find them fascinating. If you view this in Large, you'll see the distinctive outgrowths on the branches.

Thought I'd update you on the latest member of my furry 4-legged family - little hammie's been with me just over a week now. I named him "Pippin" (after the hobbit in Lord of the Rings, it just suited him - he's an adventurous little thing!). I'm so pleased with how well he's settled in... I'd been told in the shop he wasn't yet tame and worried he'd be shy. However, whoever bred him handled him well (or he's just an exceptionally confident little hammie!) cause from the start he's been a happy and nosy little character... After 24hrs, I started stroking him, then a little while later, gently scooping him up in my hands]. At first, he scurried off quickly, but now he will happily sit or walk over my hands for a few minutes at a time. He's never once tried to bite or anything :)
He goes out for little adventures each evening in his ball. Of course it's hard to tell with such a tiny creature but I think he really enjoys the explorations around our downstairs. He rolls up and down the hall, the living room and the kitchen, stopping only to sniff an interesting item in his path, give his face a quick wash... or, to investigate Barney!! I'd originally planned to keep dog and hamster apart, particularly when Pippin was in his ball - as Barney is ball obsessed and also a hunter of voles when we're on walks (albeit a very ineffective one!). However as Pip likes to roll everywhere on the ground floor, it wasn't really feasible, so I've taught Barney to be very quiet and calm when Pip's rolling around.
After one quiet but firm "settle down" from me, (he looked a bit too interested on the first evening) he has been good as gold. He actually tries to keep away from Pippin but there's no escape! Pip will spy Barney from up the hall and make a beeline straight for the big dog. He will then sit right up against Barney, sniffing at his paws and fur with obvious interest. Pippin doesn't seem scared, he's happy to groom right next to either dog and doesn't freeze or try and run off... In fact, if I move him away, he often rolls straight back to Barney! Barney lies quietly, deliberately not looking at the hammie and gently moving his paws out the way from time to time. Don't like everything the "Dog Whisperer" says but to use his phrase, Barney's the model of a dog in a "calm, submissive state". Obviously, I wouldn't leave them alone though, it's nice they seem to be co-existing but I wouldn't want Pippin to get hurt...
Anyway, Pippin seems happy in his new home, the dogs have accepted him and he's being very friendly and confident. All going very well really, now, if I can just clicker train him to pose for the camera.... ;-) Haha, will try getting some nicer pics soon, maybe of the odd pair together, reminds me of Bolt and Rhino (if you've seen "Bolt", you'll know what I'm talking about!)

View this on large and you'll see the wasp in the making in one of the cells and eggs in other cells. These are paper wasps who have decided to set up home in our garden. Paper wasps gather fibers from dead wood and plant stems, which they mix with saliva and use to construct water-resistant nests made of gray or brown papery material. The nests are characterized by having open combs with cells for brood rearing, and a 'petiole', or constricted stalk, that anchors the nest. Generally these only attack if they themselves or their nests are threatened. I know this and just hope they know that I am no threat to them or their nest:) Also known as umbrella wasps.

A NEW YEAR is a great time to Share and be Creative
Ahhhh, Resolutions. It's that time of year again, time to make all those resolutions you're motivated to accomplish, only to find in two weeks you are right back doing what you always did.
Hmmm... "if you always do what you always did you'll always get what you always got"
It's a New Year, so let's look at this from a different perspective. Instead of promising yourself things you cant or will never accomplish. I suggest you make a list of all you want to accomplish, realistically speaking, and notch away at these goals throughout the entire year. As you complete each one, a sense of accomplishment is gained and that motivates you to get the next one done. Approach is everything and planning gives you focus.
Wouldn't it be much better to say you'll do something and actually do it?
A Sunrise is always a glorious sight, fresh and clean and the start to another day. I captured this image a few miles from where I live in the country. There's nothing like the smell of a beautiful Sunrise.

WOOO LAUREN SENT ME A GIFT FROM JAPAN! and let me tell you what folks, you think that she writes awesome photo descrips, well her letters are even better so sincere....wow what can i say shes all around awesome, so if you don't know Lauren Takes Pictures, then check you're missing out on life.
The gift, yeah its an awesome dinosaur hat, Just when i thought halloween was going to be a bust....look at this!!!! WOWZERS this rules. haha

Good morning everyone. I know, just what you wanted to see...another posting of another one and only pic from this past season. Sorry about that.
Even worse, it's not the best pic you'll ever see of a Cloudless Sulphur (Phoebis sennae), but it's the only one I could get this year. I saw about 3 to 4 of these in total, but except for this one the rest were on wing. After following this one around it finally landed to nectar on Jewelweed, but unfortunately it wasn't in the best of spots. Down very low in shady weeds with a lot of surrounding clutter.
Normally I wouldn't post a pic like this, but since it's the only one I could get of a Cloudless Sulphur, I wanted to add it to my 2015 butterfly set here on flickr so it'll be included in the list of butterflies photographed this year.
To make up for this bad photo I included a better one of a Cloudless Sulphur taken in 2013. It was the last year we had a good influx of these butterflies. Actually, 2013 was the best year I can ever recall for this species of butterfly here locally, of which we rely on migrants from down south. It's also a female and it's also nectaring on Jewelweed.

Ok, if you want to see the whole story I guess You'll just have to check my blog because I was too lazy to make a teaser properly and just chopped it off at the 1.30 mark for Flickr. Just made because I like the song and SciFi stuff in SL. No hearts broken, as I used MAlt. (self preservation)
OK so it's not the best 'hare' shot that you'll ever see, but it's the best one that I've ever taken. Lost track of the number of times that I've seen the tail running away from me before I've got the camera ready, so this is it - don't they have lovely eyes! This one was trying very hard to hide from me but he just couldn't get low enough :-) Seconds later he scarpered off.

Maybe the only benefit of being so cold out here is that you have to move around and do something or else you'll keep thinking about your freezing hands more than finding your next photograph. It puts you in survival mode, makes you move and allows you to cover more ground in a short amount of time, increasing your chances of finding interesting scenes.
