Shortly before a 100 pound, intact-testicled, collar-less pit bull came out of a blackberry patch (in North Berkleley!) and sniffed her butt. I stomped my foot, told him to stay, and skedaddled. Amazingly, the big old dog listened.

I made a point of taking pictures of the ones who pandered to us. I don't blame any of these folks for just wanting to get the parade over with, since wearing a mattress gets old quickly, but there is a difference between feeling that way and looking that way.

A lot of the marchers were clomping along, looking straight ahead (or pausing to pose for the doors). I tried to focus my shots on ones who made the effort to be intersting. Sadly I missed a few because of my recalcitrant flash, but I think I scored a few decent shots.
