Near Rollinsville, Colorado - This image is a result of my latest drive for sanity that took me right up to the Continental Divide by traveling a rough 4-wheel drive road that is actually an old railroad grade used before they cut a tunnel through the mountains. The white mountain in the background is James Peak. Spectacular day!
Abandoned boat on Schoolhouse Beach, Washington Island, Door Co., Wisconsin. Likely once employed to pull gill nets, a practice now outlawed.
I thought that there was a touch of irony in this shot. The lone silhouette is the statue of George M. Cohan, standing in the center of Times Square in New York City. Mr. Cohan is considered by many to be the father of the American musical comedy, known not only for his ability as an actor, singer, and dancer, but also as a composer and lyricist. He is best known for his homespun, patriotic songs such as “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” “Over There,” and “I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy,” all of which provide an interesting contrast with the Broadway of today.

Memorial in Cavendish Cemetery to the American and Maritime sailors lost during the Yankee Gale in October 1851. The worst marine disaster in the history of Prince Edward Island.
This is located in what is left of the Red Mountain town. In all the years I have been in this area, it was the first time I have driven this road. I am glad did.
The 4WD trail to Yankee Boy Basin was quite the challenge. I was kinda proud of myself and Wanda (my 4Runner) when we made it all the way to the top.
The payoff was the wildflowers were blooming and the light softened on and off for us. Overall, lots of fun.

Off our C47 wing is B-17 Yankee Lady both from the Yankee Air Museum collection flying formation on a wonderful sunday morning over southeastern Michigan on a Pete Lerro organized flight - August 30, 2020.
This is from 2006 and I liked it enough to revisit it using the Stuck in Customs settings for Photomatix. From one RAW I made five exposures with CS3.

North American B-25 Mitchell "Yankee Doodle" takes to the air today as it departs from the Illinois Valley Regional Airport. Unfortunately today's airshow was cancelled because of rain. Even though there was no "official" airshow, the planes that were departing often made several fly-by passes before heading off.
Yankees…
Yankees…
I know the picture is not perfect. I still have hard time to ask people to let me picture them, so I steal my shots. Here we are on the ferry and this man is for me a good example of the sports fan New Yorker… (I say that and I bought in NYC a jacket and caps of the Yankees! ) If some FlickR's photographs who are visiting my stream can give me advices on this kind of candid pictures, it'll be nice!
