In the center there is a 上海特产超市, "Shanghai Specialty Supermarket". This sells products that you'd get cheaper at other places, as so called "Shanghai specialties". At least this particular shop is cheaper than the similar themed rip-off stores around Yu Garden.

What looks like a scene from an old Sergio Leone western, you'd expect Clint Eastwood to gallop by at any moment, but it's a far cry from the wild west.

In fact, we see residential buildings not far from Marrakesh in Morocco and behind them the slopes of the Atlas Mountains.

In addition to the residential area, which seems absolutely surreal to me as a German, it is the colors and color contrasts that particularly appeal to me about this scene.

The green in the foreground, bursting with life, meets a landscape that could also be found on Mars. In addition, there is an incredible number of shades of red and orange that come together here.

For me, this is a image that I am very happy about and have watched over and over again since.

Was hier aussieht wie eine Szene aus einem alten Western von Sergio Leone, man rechnet jeden Moment damit, dass Clint Eastwood vorbei galoppiert, befindet sich jedoch weit entfernt vom wilden Westen.

Tatsächlich sehen wir hier Wohnhäuser unweit von Marrakesh in Marokko und dahinter die Hänge des Atlas Gebirges.

Neben der für mich als Deutschen absolut surreal wirkenden Wohngegend sind es die Farben und Farbkontraste, die mich an dieser Szene besonders reizen.

Das vor Leben strotzende Grün im Vordergruund trifft auf eine Landschaft, die man so auch auf dem Mars vorfinden könnte. Dazu kommt dann noch, dass hier so unfassbar viele Schattierungen von Rot und Orange zusammen treffen.

Für mich ist dies eine Aufnahme, über die ich mich sehr freue und die ich mir seit dem immer wieder angesehen habe.

Taken in Brockham, Surrey, a small village not too far from where I live. Quintessentially English, a village church, a village green, a village pub, some independently owned village shops, lots of old cottages surrounding the green. Nice place to live I'm sure. The only drawback is that you'd need a wheelbarrow full of money to buy a home there. Ah well, it was a nice place for a walk.

Every image tells a story but when viewing this image you'd never guess how it came to be.

I was on a mission to get to the North Algodones Dunes Wilderness in Southern California on the Mexican border before Sunset... I left Phoenix Az. early enough, I thought, to drive the 211 miles, but I had only been there one other time and I thought I would have plenty of time to shoot the Sunset and then some...I was a bit off in my calculation.

I barely made it in time to capture just a few images before the Sun was gone and I was left standing there in darkness. On any other night, like a Moonless night, that would have been fine, but it was a full moon, and the clouds of a storm was moving fast across the desert.

I am happy with the images I was able to capture. Next time, I'll make sure I have plenty of time to travel the two-lane, winding road to get there.

I was walking down the shoreline at Fort De Soto Park in St. Petersburg, Florida. I saw the reddish egret across the way and debated whether I wanted to walk out in the water to get closer. I saw some other people in the water and it was deeper than I wanted to go. During this time of thought, however, the egret decided to move on and basically flew right at me. So all I had to do was point the camera and shoot!

I don't really know why this song "popped" into mind ....

Maybe it is to do with being around 90mtrs above the River Thames.

The station is West Silvertown on the Docklands Railway, shot from the Emirates airline cable car.

you get a Emirates Airlines boarding pass to ride, so i thought i would add some cloud to add to the illusion of being on an aircraft.
