In early 2023, UP moved three tracks worth of locomotives into storage at Congress Yard near Downtown Houston. While mostly composed of SD70Ms, there are a couple oddballs too. Like here, a pair of baby tunnel motors along with a TEBU/S4B slug and a much newer SD70ACe.
Both GP15's are former Missouri Pacific units; UPY 660 was built as MP 1660 and UPY 638 was built as MP 1638. Slug UPY 936 was built as SP 7554, a U25B, and rebuilt in 1982 into TEBU yard slug SP 1611. UP since modified and reclassified it as an S4B, and it was officially retired in February of 2023.
The last of the stored locomotives here were removed in early 2025.

The hump at UP's Englewood Yard is unique in that the crest spans a main line, in this case the two main tracks of the former HB&T East Belt.
Having just finished shoving a cut over the hump, this hump set awaits instructions before heading to pick up its next cut. In the distance, a yard transfer out of UP's Settegast Yard has just cleared below as it rolls south.

UPY 936 was built as SP 7554, a U25B, and rebuilt in 1982 into TEBU yard slug SP 1611 (Tractive Effort Booster Unit). UP since modified and reclassified it as an S4B, and it was officially retired in February of 2023. It now sits in the dead lines at UP's Congress Yard just east of Downtown Houston.

UPY 845 (ex-MP SD40-2 3310), remote control slug sled TEBU Y936 (ex-SP 1611), UPY 821 (ex-MP SD40-2 3245) and UPY 820 (ex-MP SD40-2 3132) roll over the Englewood Yard hump and Wayside Drive in Houston, TX bound to dig more cars out of the arrival tracks to sort out over the hump. The TEBU was rebuilt by SP from a GE U25B- if anyone can tell me the original number it would be much appreciated!
